White and wheat bread have the same calories. Whole wheat bread is healthier, that's all.

Any bread when eaten in large amounts is not good for you when you are dieting. Carbohydrates (which are found in all starchy and sugary foods) is an energy source. When eaten, you need to use them - exercises, walking, sports - almost immediately. If you are not using the "fuel" of the carb then it doesn't gets broken down and becomes fat that is stored for future energy needs. When you add more carbs to your diet (more bread, more pasta ...), your body will then try to use that new "fuel" as an energy source (because it is easier to convert to energy that fat) and it will never use the stored "fuel" (fat) and it will not burn the fat you are hoping to lose on your diet.

I'm not advocating no carbs. They are a very important part of your diet and your body needs them to function properly, I'm just pointing out any bread (whole wheat, rye, white ... etc ...) can become an unused "fuel" source and hence fat if eaten in excess.

Now, as far as what bread is "better" any bread made from whole grains that doesn't contain bleached or processed flour is better for your body that a bread that does. Your body has a greater ability to break these grains down and use them, not to mention they actually have some nutritional value that is good for you. So, if you want to make a sandwich or some toast, I would definitely recommend the breads of the whole grain variety.

Of course not, you need to eat carbs whether people tell you to or not. Wheat bread is extremely healthy for you and much better than regular white bread. Good luck with your mission!

It depends on which diet you're doing and what results you expect.

Wheat bread is used for slower weight loss diets like Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig.

It also depends on what you're putting on the wheat bread. Mayonnaise or peanut butter add many calories.

yes...you need to make sure it is 100% WHOLE WHEAT! Don't let the 100% wheat, or Miltigran stuff fool you. Make sure the package says 100% whole wheat and you will be fine.

You could do without the honey. I tend to cut down on bread a lot when I'm dieting. For instance, I'll eat my chicken patties and boca burgers without bread.
