Invest it in a high interest acount over 10 years...its safer than investing in busines...;

First, get it and any other spare funds you have in an ISA. If you really want to become a business investor, you will need more than that, however it is a great start.
Review your CV; What skills has your experience given you? What skills are you lacking (Besides basic english/ spelling)?
A long time ago, I took my office skills freelance and provided office support, and it cost just £450 for it all FROM SCRATCH.
Moving on into hotel consultancy, I now use my years of experience in Hotels to advise hotels on what is wrong in their businesses.
I have now built a nice little nest egg, created ample funds for me, and am now considering buying my first hotel. I started all this with nothing but £500 in an ISA.

Do want to start a small business with, buy a small business with it or just go out and spend it at a small business.? Question not too clear but will answer if you reword it.

before making any rash decisions, consider a short course in starting a small business & business planning. you can study from home around your other commitments and will cover issues like market reasearch, your product or service, funding, finances, marketing and advertising. see the website below for more info...
