Try a children's hob safety guard, Mothercare do one but try Babies R Us as well or any other good children's store.

Best thing would be to keep the cat out of the kitchen till the hob has cooled down. You wouldn't let a child play near the cooker if the hob was hot same goes for your cat.

Tricky situation. But like any hob, cat's do tend to sense the heat and if she does burn herself once, she'll know never to do it again. That's how I learned! It's not just cats who have to get used to ceramic hob heat!

Cats have powerful senses, so hopefully your cat will sense the heat and not jump near to it. You could prepare food/keep the cat food as far away from the hob as possible. This will keep the cat away if they are jumping around in the kitchen for food.

I really do sympathise with you........getting burnt on paws off a ceramic hob is extremely difficult. However, the good news is, you normally only have to do it once, unless you have a particularly stupid cat !!

We often have greedy dogs trying their luck i use a large cake cooling rack tends to keep them away as they dont like the noise of it clattering if knocked.

I wouldn't worry about this - she will only do it the once, and then she will learn it the hard way. Anyway, better she does get a shock like that if she's eating out of your saucepans - eeewwwww - unhygienic.
