You should give your muscles at least a couple days to recover and repair themselves after pushups. Also, you should only do them one time per day, perhaps 3 sets each of different kinds of pushups (regular, triangles, incline, etc.).
What happens is when you build muscles, tiny tears occur in the muscle tissue, and that needs time to heal. This is why if you do resistance exercises of the same muscle groups too often you'll see negative results.
Be sure to stretch lots and get plenty of rest.

properly you're searching for tone on your physique. in order that which you realize some human beings don't have the genes in them to construct extensive muscle mass. Your physique could be at its max reckoning on your genes. Doing those pushups can enhance your wellbeing, yet no longer continuously tone based from man or woman to man or woman.

A worthy goal. You'll reach it quicker if you train chest only every two or three days. Your strength doesn't improve during a workout, but only during rest/recovery. Enough sleep is key.

Once a day should be enough, twice a day wouldn't hurt. If you don't mind a little bulking, do every other day.
