if not than how can anyone say that he is in hell when that doesn't happen till the end? so couldn't there be a different ending one were satan wins?

Well, whether some ancient Arabic word means a place of eternal torment, the grave, an afterlife, etc...I guess that needs to be clear first.
There's a verse in the New Testament where JESUS says, 'Verily, I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done'. Referring to the end of the world. (For anyone who thinks I'm taking this 'out of context, the verse is Mark 13:30-read it yourself!)
At the time, I think most people thought it was 'the end'-there was a lot of earthquake activity in the area-closed the vent the 'delphi' used in Greece

If it already happened, you wouldn't be sitting at your computer typing in this question. So no, it hasn't happened, all the prophecies haven't occurred quite yet, and no, Satan can't win.
