We need to drink eight 8-12 ounce glasses of water per day in order for our bodies to be properly hydrated. So, depending on how you do the math, its 8x8=64, or 12x8=72, in this case, more is better.

64 oz. If you go by the standard of a glass being 8 oz. But most of the daily requirements are gained in just 4 glasses. A quart or a liter of water a day is sufficient, if you are eating your 5-10 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.

not everyone is suppose to drink 8 glasses of water a day. what you do is take your weight, divided that by 2 and that equals the amount in oz that you are suppose drink daily.
