My 10 yr. Reunion is this coming July. I want to lose weight and go back beautiful. I need to lose 60-70 lbs. and would like to know if

A.) Is this possible and B.) What is the best way to go about it?

I really don't want to rely on shakes/drinks/pills, I'd like it to be naturally done. I know this is going to be a lifestyle change and not a diet, but would like any ideas I can get. I know the basics of drinking water and fruits/veggies. However, the only veggies I like are carrots/celery/potatoes(which aren't great for losing weight)/corn/peas/grn. beans -- I don't really like tomato, onion, peppers etc. As far as fruits go, I like apple/orange/banana/pineapple/peaches/mandarin oranges-that's about it for that. I don't like any kind of melon at all, or most berries. I know this sort of limits things for me but I wanted you to be thoroughly informed before answering this question. Please only give serious answers. I really need help losing this weight! Thanks.

My sister has the same situation and in doing the math here is the best case scenario. You have 7 months from December to the end of June. Give or take a couple of off weeks and holiday eating (Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa, New Years) then that leaves you with about 26 weeks. Unless you are extremely devoted I think the most you should expect to loose is 2 pounds per week. That would leave you with 52 pounds off which is shy of your low figure of 60 lbs.

Now on to how to do it. I would start with a good cleansing routine. Just visit GNC and they'll be able to help you. Then develop a nutrition plan that cuts about 1500 calories a week. Now on to exercise which should be a minimum of 5 days for at least 30 minutes if not more. I would say four days of cardio and one of strength training.

If you are committed you can do it. One suggestion is to post pictures from how you looked like 10 years ago as the motivation. I would have 7 pictures as your countdown each month when you get closer to your goal!

Best of luck and remember you are worth it!

I think this is a realistic goal. That's about 8 months so a bit less than 10 lbs. per month. It's pretty aggressive but as long as you're healthy about it you should be fine.

I suggest definitely starting an exercise regiment, ideally incorporating resistance (weights, yoga, etc), cardio and flexibility. If you can get a personal trainer that would be the best. A PT can help gear exercise, diet and lifestyle changes to your goals.

Also remember that muscles weighs more than fat, so going by the scale alone isn't always the best idea, especially if just starting an exercise regimen. For me, clothing size is a good determiner.

As for diet, I go for the five meals a day approach, with smaller portions. Also, cutting out the processed simple carbs (sugar, white flour, etc.) and getting enough protein and good fats is ideal.

Good for you for not falling for the fad diets. Very few of them are realistic and almost none are sustainable over the long term.

A lifestyle change can be challenging. Just stick with it and be consistent and you'll see results for sure. Best of luck to you!

You are talking roughly 7 months and no i don't think u can safely lose that much wght in that time frame. The best thing to do is exercise at least 30 min/day every day. This could be treadmill, stationary bike or elliptical trainer.
As for diet, you should adopt a high fiber, low fat low glycemic index diet. And don't skip meals, esp. breakfast. You should eat a large brkfst a medium-sized lunch and a small supper. And try not to eat anything after 6:30 p.m.
Also limit or, if possible eliminate hard liquor, because it's just 'empty calories' - that is no nutritional value.
Good luck!

The whole weight loss issue is really almost always answered simply; eat right and exercise. I, personally have found that the issue is rarely about calorie input, but rather, all about calorie output. I have lost 100lbs in six months before, and am currently well on my way to doing this again after 10yrs of gaining it back because of lifestyle changes. Here's what I know that works.

1. Go to the gym every day, work out (ie. sweat, breath hard, wear out your muscles) for at least one hour. Plan to get sore sometimes.

2. Eat sensibly and frequently. This machine we call our body runs more efficiently when fueled and working hard. No restrictive diets will ever work for the long haul. I ate five or six small meals daily and actually increased calorie intake to lose that 100lbs the first time. I am doing it again now. In two months, I'm eating more and have dropped 25lbs, and I'm back to working out dailly.

Very possible. You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

I went on weight watcher... didnt go to the meetings but i went on it with a few of my friends and I also worked out with the bily blanks boot camp training videos... i cut out all sugar and soda and ate very healthy and in my point range and in 3 months i dropped 20 lbs... sounds unrealistic but it actually happened. (then i gained it all back when i became pregnant at the end of that 3 month period lol) You dont have to like a lot of fruits and veggies to do this and be succesful, i find it easier to diet or exersize with a partner then you can motivate each other. Good luck!! Look up some recipies on weight watchers web site. And if you like to dine out... applebees has a great weight watchers menu!!

Try weight watchers. It is great. It has worked for my wife and parents. If you are driven, focus and dedicated this will work for you and they have pretty good food. The best thing to do is to get on a workout routine which would include light weights and cardio. Try some spinning classes, or cardio kick boxing classes too. The more active your lifestyle is the easier it will be for the weight to come off and get toned at the same time.

Good luck!

The best way to do this is to eat healthy and exercise a lot!!! You may not reach your goal, as that is a lot of weight to lose, but you can come close. Just be sure you aren't eating junkfood and drinking lots of soda!

Yes it is with proper diet and excersise. Talk with your Doctor about a good program and join a gym that can offer you access to a personal trainer.

It won't be easy but You can do it.
