Then who would be the "bad cop" come on think about it? He'd just have to give the job to someone else, its not as if a deity can be everywhere @ once

"NOT religious here", but hypothetically speaking. GOD vs. SATAN. good versus evil, light vs dark. If "GOD" could destroy "SATAN" we would be left with only one side of an equation. How would we know what evil is without the evil. "SATAN" exist and will always exist, and can never be destroyed so we may all understand what it is. Would you ever know what the light is unless you had seen the dark to compare ?

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

The universe would not worship Him out of love but fear. By allowing Satan to do what he wants we are witnesses to the results of sin and has such we will hate it just like how God hates sin.
Because of sin, we are witnesses of the reality of sin and what it does. That is why God had to die to redeem us and he will come again and save us and rid the universe of sin, sinners and the devil Satan forever.
Before there was sin, no one knew really what it was it was just a bad thing. But sooner or later it would arise and Lucifer initiated it and therefore in God's infinite wisdom sin is allowed to be played out so that the character of God will be seen and that all the warning before was warranted.
Sin will never again rare its ugly head because God will not allow it again and we wont either because we see what it causes.
Even God had to pay for sin by the death of His only son, which was no ordinary death - no man or woman on earth every had that death - he died for the world everybody who died already died for themself.

He will, Satan is for the Time being a "marionette puppet" of God, Satan has lost, his time is short, God uses Satan despite himself as a means to consummate His redemptive plan for Mankind

for battle.where do people get the idea God created him.
Satan is one of the immortals, same as Lilith, and Melchizedek.

He will. The lake of fire wsa prepared for the devil and his angels. In the meantime God is waiting to see what we will do about him.

first..you forgot to capitalize.. He... and second the answer is because God loves us.. unfortunately there are many people who don't love Him back.. but that just shows His unconditional love doesn't?!
