Smaller. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, it was determined that we didn't need a giant military. Bush 41, Clinton, and Bush 43 all engaged in "modernization" programs that scaled back manpower and replaced it with more effective technology.

Even now, our problem isn't a military that's too small... it's a military that's improperly configured for what we're trying to do with it. Bush has been shrinking the Navy and the Air Force for a while, but it looks like he'll have to expand the Army and Marines.

i'm hoping you're being facetious. Bush has placed American taxpayers TRILLIONS of money in debt because of his insane, insipid 'conflict'. gas prices are skyrocketing because Bush and Cheney's oil pals are manipulating the marketplace, and could proceed to finish that once Bush's huge style-one non-protection rigidity 'benchmark' is put in position, which forces Iraqi's Parliament to provide up 2-thirds of its oil fields to overseas oil organizations, therefore allowing them to really thieve Iraq's maximum useful monetary source. There won't be able to be a lot extra hatred for the united statesA. that there is at the moment. it really is why such fairly some youthful adult men are growing a member of AlQaeda, purely as such fairly some youthful adult men joined the service after Pearl Harbor became attacked. we are headed the worst monetary melancholy in this usa's heritage. it really is why over a million homes are being foreclosed in this month, and a million extra will be repossessed next month. The melancholy will hit presently after Bush leaves workplace, probable in October, 2009. it really is why you'll see purely a mediocre Republican attempt to win the elections next 12 months. they're going to desire a Democratic landslide so Democrats inherit the melancholy, and Republicans can go back triumphant in 2012. Oh, God help us - i actually wish you're being facetious!! -RKO- 10/19/07

in world war II the us. army was huge since the government started to draft so many men, plus it was the biggest war of the world. today the us has the strongest military in the world but does not have as many troops. we just have a lot more technology know and are more advanced so machines take care of a lot of things for us now. but the thing that president Bush is doing right know is good, hes doing very good on the war in iraq but not so good on the problem with the illegal immigration but he is the first pes. to finally do something about it. does this help?

I have no numbers. However I do have some facts.

The armed forces are currently smallest they have been in history.

Under Kennedy they were th largest since WWII, and that was at the
very beginning of Viet Nam.

Thank you very much, while you're up!!
