Hello, me again. I live in CT and like to visit the city. I don't want to deal with metro north as sometimes I stay too long and it closes. I'd like to know what express subway stop I can go to off the Deegan or I-95. I'd like it to have a secure parking lot for my car. Then I'd like to take the subway in to the city. Thanks!

The closest subway station to I95 would probably be somewhere in the Bronx.

The first stop you would hit would be Dyre Avenue/Eastchester on the 5 train. Or you can go to Wakefield/241st on the 2/5 trains. Depending on when you travel, they will be local in the Bronx and then express in Manhattan.

You might want to consider driving down to Pelham Parkway, and you can take the 5 train there also. There are several hospitals in that area, so there should be good parking.

This garage is pretty close to that train station:

You would really be off just taking Metro North. Do you really want to take the train at 2am? Plus, the 5 train doesn't run at certain times. You also have to make sure you get on the correct 5 train (there's a Dyre 5 & a White Plains Rd. 5, don't ask why, I don't run the MTA).

You could park in Morris Park, which is relatively safe & has plenty of street parking & take the express bus ($5 each way w/a free transfer to MTA buses/trains). But again, like Metro North, they stop running around midnight or 1am on weekends (you would have to check the schedule).

There is no express train near the Deegan unless you parked in Inwood in upper Manhattan & took the A train. There is an express bus that goes to the east side but you have to make sure it stops in Inwood (bc those who live in Riverdale have a problem w/that....whole other topic). But parking is the real issue. Other than that you would have to park in the South Bronx near Yankee Stadium to be near the Deegan & take the 4 train. Not something I would do.

I think the train is too much of a pain in the butt to deal w/. You also have to worry about alternate side of the street parking (too expensive tickets & possible to be towed too).
