I would have to also say that even with a God it would still be offensive. There is a lot of hatered in the Bible that is justified only because God says it is ok. If authority comes from the people and I am a person, I take its authority over me and judge it as evil.

If......IF???? The Bible is offensive regardless--offensive against sin.
If there is no God then you would not be here asking the question. HE made you.
And if you want to think that you 'evolved' then you have to have much more faith to believe that one! One of the basic scientific facts is that things tend to the simple--they break down--become less complex. and yet we are told in science class that little bits of goo got together and became more complex not just one time but many many times until ::::poof:::: here is a complex human?? and all the animals were the same way??? yikes! You thinking the Bible is offensive is the least of your worries. If you are not with Him then you are against Him. He has made 2 places for you to spend eternity--heaven and hell. Your choice.

What is so offensive about Love your neighbor as yourself, or be faithful to you wife or husband. What is so offensive about thou shalt not kill or steal. Unless you are the thief the killer or the adulterer. I understand the bible says it is a rock of offense to all those that don't believe. As a believer the Bible is the greatest book to read. I remember the days I couldn't stand it. If you change sides you'll find there is no greater book on earth.

Offensive? No. Even in the absence of God, its still mythology and should be preserved. I might call it silly, but as offensive things go its not that bad. You should read Heisiod's views on women or something.

Whether there is a god or not, the bible can only be viewed as offensive by those to whom it condemns.

ALLAH is the one God who has no partner. Nothing is like Him. He is the Creator, not the created, nor a part of His creation. He is All-Powerful, absolutely Just, All-Knowing, All-Merciful, the Supreme, the Sovereign. There is no entity worthy of worship besides Him.
