I want to lose weight, but I would like to do it without joining any certain programs or plans. Of course I would be omitting foods that will be bad and all, and I will be using my AbLounge and Pilates DVDs for exercise. (Pilates helped my friend lose like 75 pounds and shes been thin for years now).
Anyways, I am wondering if those of you who have had success with losing weight can tell me some secrets? Like foods to absolutely avoid and whatnot?
Thanks

1. no fries, no chips, no soda... for starters.
2. no high fructose corn syrup... no junkfood, no candy... once you get used to the first.
3. small/normal portions... snack only on healthy foods... once you get used the the first and second.

if people would exercise more they would not have to worry so darn much about food...Are you really serious about doing this? We are talking about hard work. Putting down your little debbies, getting off your butt and not only going on a diet but EXERCISING!!! Even if you lose the weight it will come right back if you do not have the desire and motivation to not only look cute but to be healthy. it is going to take alot of inner strength I can assure you of that.
1.) eat 4-5 small meals a day
2.) drink lots of water
3.)exercise every day
4.) do not eat 4-6 hours before you sleep.

Eat less and move more. Walk everyday no matter what. Stay off breads, esp cakes, bagels, dough nuts and such. Pilate's is great, but hard to do. You have to be in good shape or you'll most likely not be successful.
Eat fresh veggies. Stay away from refined and store bought stuff, like mac and cheese or hamburger helper......that kind of junk. You know what's good and what isn't. Get moving is the best thing.

I'm sure you know the basics of healthy, effective weightloss: intake less calories than you burn. So count the calories of what you eat and engage in good cardiovascular exercise (to burn maximum calories, keep your heart rate at 65-85% of 220 minus your age). The biggest factor, though, is consistency. In order to improve your weight, you must make a decision to eat healthy and exercise and stick to it permanently. That is the hardest part.

What really worked for me was very simple. I just stayed away from chocolates and chips, drank plenty of water and took the stairs. Seriously, thats all what I've done and I've lost 25 pounds.
Good Luck!

Everyone would have you believe losing weight is this big mysterious complicated formula known only to a few.
The simple fact is, you eat less than what you use.

I'd say don't avoid really anything. Just make good decisions (exercise and eat well), don't beat yourself up, keep track of what you put in your body and how many calories you burn and be patient. Know your weak points, everybody's are different.
