I agree, why do I have to continue paying taxes to house, feed, clothe, these dirtbags, not to mention they can earn a degree in prison, and have cable (in some states) and many other perks that out here a private citizen woud have to pay for. And I do not care what anyone says, a child molester, a rapists, all sex offenders "CANNOT" be rehabilitated. Many other crimainals, there might be hope for, but not for "ANY" sex offender. When someone gets the death penalty or life in prison, they should be walked out of the court room and to the next room and the death penalty should be administered right then and there. Think of all the tax money that would be saved. Its not fair for a dirtbag to sit in a jail cell for 10 years before being put to death. What about the justice for the poor victims?????????

I don't agree with the death penalty, even for murderers. I just don't think it's our place to decide whether any other person lives or dies, whether it's a person who committed a horrible murder or an innocent unborn baby.

However, I do think that for some reason, we have lost grasp of the idea of PUNISHMENT in our society. And, I do believe that it is true that rehabilitation of those who do these things is very difficult if not almost impossible. I also don't think it's fair to let them out of jail and then brand them with a scarlet letter by plastering their faces on the internet as sex offenders. If they're so dangerous, then WHY ARE THEY OUT OF JAIL????? We don't post a "murderer registry" or a "tax evaders registry" or a "bank robbers registry". I say, put them away for good and let God sort them out.

And, parents need to realize that for every sex offender that has been caught and charged, there are hundreds more who haven't. Parents need to watch over their children like hawks, just ASSUME that there is a child predator living nearby, and act accordingly.

Has the news about the Innocence Project passed you by? Haven't you heard about how DNA testing has uncovered numerous wrongful convictions? The jury system may be the best system, but it's not perfect by a long shot (nor can it ever be). There will continue to be wrong convictions. Do you want to kill the wrongfully convicted defendants just so that you can make sure you also kill all the guilty ones. Many judges, lawyers and legislators are aware that the system ain't perfect, and -- unless they make a political decision to pander to those who love to put people to death -- they try to deal with that reality. And that doesn't make them panzies -- it makes them courageous.

Death is not a punishment. We all die. Why get them out of suffering in jail sooner. Let them rot in there. Sex offenders and child molesters are treated pretty badly in jail....let them be harrassed everyday and beat up once in a while.

That's a far greater punishment than mere death!

I believe you. they ought to outline extra what someone is charged with. I stay in NC and they ought to tell if any sex criminal is on your community and they even provide you with there handle, call and image on-line. i do no longer pick to guage human beings and they ought to inform extra what there crime became truly of everyone assuming they raped or molested a baby. they favor to modify the regulation. a baby molester should be for them pervert that mess with children and by no ability purely the random human being that tousled doing something, that they pick to call a sex criminal. everyone looks such in a up roar to make sure those human beings stay round them and some are literally not what they seem. yet human beings have a tendency to imagine the more serious and prefer I suggested they ought to outline it extra or substitute the regulation. The extraordinary element is i do no longer see to a lot of them up there that are charged with surely rape, maximum are those who made dumb judgements and were given stuck, maximum of them were probley lower than the effect of alcohol on the time in any case.

im guessing you wont like this awnser. But the reason they don't get death is because there are plenty of people out there who don't realize till its to late that there partner is under age. Or have jealouse girlfriends who don't like what there x's are up to so acuse them of rape.

The world is full of horrible people, and probably your right some who truely are guilty don't deserve a place on it. But till you can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the person is guilty the sentence will never be so harsh.

A big part of them getting off easy is that there is so little room in prisons. We all know this shouldn't matter, but judges do consider it when sentencing. It's just an unfortunate result of the current system.

It gets down to whose rights are more important and since the justice system can be easily derailed, these "people" ( and I use the term loosely) are aloowed back out on society to continue their depravity
