God has severe mood swings as shown in the Bible. Think about it, sometimes he's full of wrath, then he's all lovey-dovey. Then he's full of wrath again. Just like a female who is on the rag.
So maybe... He is actually a She?
NOTE: This question is merely for entertainment purposes. DO NOT TAKE IT SERIOUSLY!!! (You'll think I wouldn't have to say it, but the immaturity of a lot of Christians demand it!!!)

I do respect females. I am often told that I was born a century too late because of my upbringing. I will open doors for women, I will not allow them to carry anything except their purses, because I carry it for them, etc.
I find it offensive that someone would indicate that I do not respect females. I just think there is nothing wrong with a good joke as long as everyone understands that I am not trying to be ofensive. I even said not to take this seriously, did I not?
I'm sorry if I offended any women, though. Please forgive me.

Okay, all the serious people who posted has lured out my philosophical side, (WHY DI YOU HAVE TO DO THAT???) so here it is:
God is not physical, but is spiritual. Therefore, It does not have any genitals or any chromosones (the two things that determine sex), so It is neither. It is spirit, duh!!!
BTW, I am not Christian, so quoting the Bible has no affect on me. I really despise the Bible. It is a cruel and inhumane book. I am rather Deist, and reject ALL REVELATION except the one True Word of God... Creation!!!

I dont think anyone can be 100% sure if God is a woman or man ,does it really matter if "He" is a "s She" as long as you believe ? Anyway,,if "He" is a "she",,,it explains a lot huh,,now maybe you can be a little more understanding.(smile) By The Way,,,I took no offense to your question.

He is not female but he is not a mere male as we understand it either, He is God.
God the eternal Father is the Creator, Source, Sustainer, and Sovereign of all creation. He is just and holy, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. The qualities and powers exhibited in the Son and the Holy Spirit are also revelations of the Father. (Gen. 1:1; Rev. 4:11; 1 Cor. 15:28; John 3:16; 1 John 4:8; 1 Tim. 1:17; Ex. 34:6, 7; John 14:9.)

I like your humor, and yes...too many serious answers, even tho a question is sometimes asked in a humorous way...C'mon....peeps...lighten it up a bit!!!!!
oh,,where was I???
Yes,,,God can be a female as well as a male. God is s Spirit, and Spirits have no particular gender. Since God is our "parent"...God has both male and female personality traits...Sorry to those who believe that God is only a 'HE"! When the Bible was originally written, there was no terminiology for this Spirit of God, other than "It". and it just wasn't used...Instead of using "IT", "He" was used.
See...not a ridiculous question at all.... It's great that you asked....

In California - referring to God as a "she" is pretty common. But usually it has more to do with presenting a compassionate and loving side of God rather than representing the mercurial depiction of God in the bible. Also a lot of people grew up with hardazz authoritarian or even abusive fathers and linking God with "father" makes some forms of religion a non-starter.

You could have a point there. Then theirs the possibility that maybe there's 2 Gods, One male, one female. Theirs seem to be mostly male and female species here on earth. They did say God created us from his image. Or maybe HIS and HER image. Perhap's these religious experts are hiding something....

To tell you the truth I don't see why he had to be any gender. Gender only makes sense if there is a opposite, without opposite the concept makes no sense, so there really should be a Goddess. Other examples of this concept is without death/life has no real meaning, without darkness/light would be impossible to explain.

when a woman wants something from a man, she'll think of a way to make it his idea. so, God might not be a woman, per say. Just "influenced" by a Goddess, who keeps a sharp eye on things, and stays in the shadows in case her all mighty ideas fail...makes her unknown, and God gets all the blame. Brilliant, isn't she?

God is unlikely to be male or female. I believe God is more of an entity, not a person and therefore has no gender. HTH : )

God is not physical, therefore the concept of gender does not apply. The male convention is generally used as God is described as 'King' and human kings are usually male.
