Lately it takes all three to back up any movie at all. Is there a better way?

I love the term "backup". As a consumer you would think you would have the right to copy or "backup" your dvd's in the event that you scratch your dvds. Once you use a decrypting program that breaks the dvd's css code your are breaking the copyright laws. But at the same time I doubt MPAA is going to come knock on your door unless you try to make a profit and try to resale the dvd's you just copied or "backed up". DVD Fab Decrypter is the best decrypting program on the internet, it breaks all css dvd encryptions. You don't need to shrink your dvd's, you end up losing up to 50% of the original quality. I would suggest you just "backup" your dvd as a whole ISO, or 100% quality. Then burn them back to a dvd+r dl (dual layer) which can hold up to 8.5GB of data or movie. The reason I suggest that is, 1) You don't have to worry about the middle program, 2) you won't lose any quality of the dvd, 3) you can retain all the dvd's extras and other languages/subtitles. Then you can just use nero to burn the dvd back. If you don't have a dvd+r dl (dual layer) burner, they are very cheap, you can browse ebay and look for at least a NEC 3550A burner. In regards to the blank media, I would suggest getting Verbatim's DVD+R DL from Best Buy, they are best and you can avoid dvd coasters (failed dvd burns). Those discs are little pricey, around $2 per disc. But you can say you don't have to pay $15-$20 for the dvd again! Hope that information helps.
