There are poor people in all religions. In general the more poor they are the more devote a believer they will be. I attribute this to them having led a rough life here so they long more for an afterlife where all will be made right. Many have just accepted that they are going to be poor and don't try to work themselves out of poverty because they are just getting by in this life in order to make it to the next more important one...and when you add the fact that the god(s) they believe in are no more real than the Easter Bunny..this is a truly sad phenomenon and another reason that religion needs to find it's place on a shelf in a history book and out of all respectable society.

Does the Bible ever say that Jesus will make you rich? Nowhere in the Bible does Jesus promise material prosperity. ever. Jesus Himself was poor. He never said it would be easy. He said it would be difficult. He said, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." (Luke 9:23) He has not forsaken them. There WILL be hardships. But He promises to always be there for us. And He is.

Earthly riches are not a sign of God's love....God only promises abundant heavenly riches if you believe in Jesus Christ. Many people who do not know God have earthly riches...it doesn't have anything to do with God's love.
