What was his motivation? I mean he is omnipotent, nothing he could do is a challenge or a stimulation for him. He has no needs whatsoever, he's not human like us we can't expect Him to think and act like us. He had no reason to do anything, that's the trick about being omnipotent. He can "experience" everything anytime he wants to without anything, surely that's in the scope of his powers

God can't get bored. Remember he's not a human like us, you can't expect him to act like us. You and I would be bored but not him, he's omnipotent! He has everything, he needs nothing

What is the plan? Wouldn't it be easier to just skip this entire phase and just go to the end? He should already know what is going to happen

God doesn't get bored. He's not human. He lacks nothing, he doesn't get bored or hungry or tired or whatever. Those are human traits

Well, gee, you know that old saying "It's lonely at the top". I guess when you have to sit on a throne and twiddle your thumbs for gazzillions of years, ya might get desperate for some kind of diversion. Methinks "God" has had plenty of diversion watching our antics over the time that has passed since Adam and Eve. Never a dull moment is there? LOL

Stop and think for just a moment. The Bible tells us we are created in the "image" of God. God is love. Normal human beings need to love and be loved. This comes from God. That is why he created us. All the rest was just for our benefit. Because He loves us. Read the Gospel of John.

To fellowship with Him, As for the rest of it, the answer as of now in this form is beyond our comprehension, but God does say that he will tell us.
Rev 10:6 And he swore an oath in the name of the one who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and everything in it, the earth and everything in it, and the sea and everything in it. He said, "God will wait no longer.
Rev 10:7 But when the seventh angel blows his trumpet, God's mysterious plan will be fulfilled. It will happen just as he announced it to his servants the prophets."

Many of the answers will reveal many people believe God is a vain, whimsical, and insecure entity. If you look really close, you will see they're describing a petty tyrant from some primitive desert tribe. He needs to be glorified, obeyed, sung to, adored, and he will punish severely all those who don't do so. Don't we all know people like that?

He was bored! But seriously - that's the question of the ages. It all depends on what religion, what BRANCH of that religion, etc. Every religion has its own creation story (or stories - Judaism and Christianity both have two stories of Genesis). Expand on your question and include your religion in order to receive more specific answers.

Inevitability. I guess one could apply the same argument for life to the god argument. We could say that since the possibility of creation exists. Given infinite time and the probabiltiy god would eventually get bored and make it happen.
