About $40,000 a year. The campus is in the heart of Greenwich Village. As far as dorms, they are in high rise apartments in Greenwich Village. NYU is a second tier school, just below ivy league quality. Yet, it's Tisch School of the Arts for movies and theater is one of the best in the country. It has a list of prestigious graduates including Hollywood directors Martin Scorcese, Oliver Stone, and Spike Lee. Also plenty of actors and actresses including Alec Baldwin and Meg Ryan. Other nationally known schools at NYU are Sterns Business School, NYU Law School, and its excellent English and Creative writing departments. As far as scholarships, it's very competitve, yet they do offer scholarships.

It's pretty expensive and many believe that it is not worth it to go to NYU because they don't offer enough for the money. They do offer scholarships, but not as much as other universities. Same goes for financial aid.
