Have you tried going to a church? I know our church helps out families all the time, and we find it a blessing to do so.

Go to the Salvation Army. They are set up to help families in need, especially at Christmas, but I agree, Christmas is about love, and not material things. That said, this Christmas is the first year I haven't had money to buy my kids anything. My son had cancer, and I lost my home business as a result. How dispensible humanity is in this greedy world.
However they are great kids, and they are still getting some presents under the tree, even if they've all been purchased on credit...some day it will be paid off...but they know that this year will be much leaner than most, but they also know how fortunate we are that we have each other, and that is what counts, but despite what others might say, kids are kids, and it would be a sad morning without anything under that tree. That is why there are angels in this world, because they care about people in need, but in turn you must also give thanks for the blessings you receive.

I am sorry for your troubled times and hope that things will work out for your family. Local Churches is a good thing to try like people have already said. I agree that Christmas is about family but it still makes a difference to a kid having a something from Santa under the tree. You could visit the dollar store like someone suggested and you could make some presents as they have cheap craft supplies. Picture frames with a special picture inside, bookmarks and other crafts you can find from the web to make. Baking cookies together and stringing popcorn to make garlands together or paper garlands for the tree kids love to do and they are cheap too. The dollar stores here have colouring books, crayons, markers , paper, playdoh, etc. all for a dollar each so hopefully near you you can find the same. I wish I had money to spare ! Please take care and good luck.

Christmas is not just about what is under the tree, but what is in your hearts. Teach your kids about the true meaning of Christmas! You are a family who sticks together and loves each other and that is more important than material items. Start a family tradition that will mean something to your kids when they are grown. Love doesn't cost a thing! Other than that it is amazing what you can get at the dollar store nowadays or at discount stores, so they can have presents to open Christmas morning.

Christmas is not about gift giving and as far as all these individuals suggesting a church fund people who may not in the body of Christ, is an insult. The church's monies are for Kingdom Projects; each church has a mandate given by God and that mandate may not be aid the unbeliever or non-member (this is NOT always true). The church has funds due to tithers people who diligently consistently give 10% of their salary every pay period or with all their earnings as commanded by the bible. Yes the church loves all mankind but don't seek the church for the money only seek God as your resource and you too will not know lack of any kind.

I would also say to try asking at local churches. Last year, my brother and his wife had four children and although he does work and his job pays a decent amount, his line of work was not very steady and he hadn't worked for two months leading to Christmas. Although he is religious, he left my church 15-20 years ago, but they all pitched in to make sure he and his family had a good Christmas. A good church won't care if you're religious or not...they will care about helping you. You may be obliged to people sharing their faith with you, but I think it would be a small price to pay.

Happiness doesn't come from a gift under a tree. Teach your children the true meaning of Christmas and to be thankful for what they do have.

HONEY THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS IS NOT GIFTS BUT LOVE, THANK GOD THAT YOU HAVE THE LOVE OF YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. GIFTS ARE NOT IMPORTANT, MAKE A GREAT MEAL, DECORATE THE HOUSE WITH THE THINGS THE CHILDREN HAVE MADE. AND THE MOST PRECIOUS GIFT OF ALL IS THAT YOUR YOUNG SICK SON IS STILL WITH YOU LOOK AT THE SMALL BLESSING AND BE GLAD FOR WHAT YOU HAVE. HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Have you ever heard of freecycle? if not go to freecycle.org and look up the area in which you live . People offer many free things or you can post stuff that you need and hopefully someone can help you out. Does your little one have Cystic Fibrosis?
