Each year I make Gingerbread Houses with my first graders, but this year our school has adopted a Health and Wellness policy that includes no candy in school. I need alternatives to decorate our houses. I have these things so far:
___raisins
___fruit snacks(holiday shapes?)
___pretzel snaps
___shredded wheat

Here are some alternatives people have used:

*Fruit slices and fruit rolls.

* The floors of Gingerbread houses were made of pretzels.

*Paths were made out of granola.

* The Christmas tree was made of shredded wheat and decorated with portions of popcorn and dried cranberries.

* Again pretzels for fire logs.

*Roof made of walnut tiles.

*Flags made of flag made of blue and red Fruit Loops and white Lucky Charm marshmallows.

*Stained glass windows made of Fruit Roll-Ups.

Cherrios, low fat crackers or thinned shape cookies. Low fat potato chips or nuts. Even holiday jello(jiggler) shapes. Good luck.
