Schizoprenia is not the same thing as multiple personality disorder, or Dissociative Identity Disorder. Why don't you take a look at the treatment of psychotic patients in mental health facilities? Should a schizophrenic patient be given high dosages of anti-psychotics to manage their behavior while running the risk of dramatically slowing their heart rate and blood pressure? What are the risks involved? Should psychotic patients be physically restrained? At what point should that decision be made? Are psychotic patients being denied proper medical treatment at some facilities due to inability to control their behavior? Just some thoughts...

You could examine the nature-nurture debate about the causes of this illness. Although there are definite genetic markers indicating this is biologically based, not everyone with those markers will get it. It's a subject of much speculation and research at this point in time.

Two movies I would recommend for you to watch and then come up with your own question:
A Beautiful Mind
The Saint of Fort Washington
Both are touching films on the subject of schizophrenia.
