There are several way to "attract" deer. One obvious way is to plant some type of clover or alphafa that they will come to. Another good trick is a Salt Lick. The deer will come to lick on the salt. If you are near any fields (corn or beans) some of the farmers will be nice enough if you know them to leave a little stash when they harvest the crops, the deer will come to eat it. Also you could try using a deer call, grunting or even rattling. Make certain to check your local laws and statutes as "Baiting" may be illegal in your area as it is in most states.

Yeah pretty much like the others have said, a salt lick block, apples is my bread and butter move, a deer call sometime works and then there are the doe scents you can buy at wallmart or any sportmanshops. Try to mask your scent as well. There are camo clothes out now that are scent blocker, and scent blocker in a bottle you can buy too.

Salt blocks, cut up apples, apple blocks, or just about any of the deer attractants that you can find at sporting goods stores. Remember that if you bring them out they will get into anything that looks good to them, like gardens, landscaping, etc. If you live in the city or suburbs, you should just leave them alone. People who feed deer in urban and suburban areas are causing problems for themselves, neighbors, and deer. They will start to travel around the neighborhood getting into other peoples things and even getting struck by cars.

I know that someone has to keep the Deer population under control, but if you are going to shoot them, please eat them or give the meat to someone who will. I do not hunt myself, but I do not condem those who do as long as they are not just sport hunter for the antlers. That pisses me off!!! In answer to your question, Salt lick, Deer corn, Plant alfalfa, clover, or any grazzing type of grass.
