Good Question! I would like to know the answer to! I think the New York Police should have to answer this! There is NO REASON FOR THAT! He was out on his bachelor party having a good time, there are other ways of dealing with a person causing problems! Not 40 times! Just because they carry a badge some think they are above the law, they need a reality check!

What's the deal with people not getting their facts straight?

He was shot twice, and the car was only hit 21 times. Approximately 50 rounds were fired.

It is quite difficult to hit a moving target, and even more difficult to penetrate a steel/glass covered vehicle to incapacitate the driver. When you're being hit by the vehicle and/or see your partner being hit by it, that compounds the stress level making your shots even less accurate.

One cop had to reload twice before the car stopped moving. It's not as easy as it sounds.

It looks really bad for the cops. But I do want to say that Ray Kelly has been one of the best things that has ever happened to NYC, under his leadership, and the leadership of Guiliani and Bloomberg, the crime rate in New York has plummeted. The murder rate is less than half of what it was pre-Guiliani. That translates into thousands of lives saved. I hope New York doesn't do anything stupid and get rid of Kelly.

I think they went a little over board instead of shooting him maybe they should of just gave him a ticket. Also I think that they had nothing better to do and saw him and decided to find something wrong with him so they could get him but i don't think they intentually meant to shoot him and kill him. But i might be wrong. Cops these days think they can get away with everything. So if the law is like it is here in North Carolina they will probably get away with it.

it is insane.are cops thinking they can do anything they want or are they just stupid.this kind of thing is getting out of hand.just the other day in ST.Louis,Mo. cops raided a 92 year old woman's house for selling drugs.they were in plain clothes so when they busted through the door the old woman had no idea they were cops and pulled out a gun.over 200 police shells were found in the house.and the cops are still saying she was a drug dealer to cover their butts.it is high time the police are put under some kind of control.what did they think it was so much fun to kill a guy they had to reload and shoot him some more.what if it's your wedding it takes more bullets.what a sad country this country is becoming.i say these police want to kill innocent people for fun ,send them to Iraq.because of the stupidity of that war, they can shoot all the innocent people they want.who knows maybe we will get lucky and get a bad guy or 2 for once.

Well I don't know, a link to the story would help as this is the 3rd time I have seen a question of this nature. It would be easier to form an opinion based on real data.

Well here is a link to the latest news. It sounds like they're trying to say he ran over an undercover and hit a police vehicle and that's why they opened fire.

Shouldn't we all wait for the investigation to be conducted before you jump on the backs of the police officers? Let's have all the facts, THEN blame who's responsible.
