Why should someone else bother if you have pleasure in it? Why do they try to stop you?

It is very dangerous for your health. Most people who are cutters have underlying emotional problems that need to be addressed. I don't know if it is illegal, but it is very dangerous. If someone is trying to stop you from doing this it is because they care about you. Some would say it is a sin, because you are injuring yourself, but I think that it is just a cry for help. If you knew someone was addicted to drugs, you would try to help them. Cutting is just as dangerous an addiction. You need to talk to someone about this. Or if you are referring to someone else, you need to encourage them to seek counseling. What is it that makes cutting pleasurable? This issue is what needs to be addressed. Most people don't understand why you do it and also they care about you. Even if you like it, you are still harming yourself. Even if it is a release, YOU know it isn't the best thing. Good luck, try to love yourself more. I definitely know where you are coming from.

because it is bad. it isn't illegal but it is a bad sin. god doesn't want you to be tearing up your skin like that on purpose. and must of the time when people have pleasure in doing stuff like that they have a problem. so instead of cutting think about why you are doing, and what your problem really is. did your dad die? your mom isn't always home? try to get to the root of the problem before you react.

Leviticus 19 tells us not to cut or get tatoo's. It is a pagan ritual. it is using a way to release the guilt and anxiety you feel( chemically) so you can momentarially feel better instead of going to God and dealing with the main issue of why you want to cut.You hate yourself or someone else and are not free to express that feeling so you take it out on yourself. You feel guilty for having certain feelings so you punish yourself. You punish yourself because you know God forgave you and you feel you deserve to be punished, since He won't punish you will. You are crying out for someone to help you, You don't want to die but you don't want to live the life you're living,you want something worth living for. and you don't know how to change it.
