If you've retained your receipts, the police can request those who they suspect having your inflatables, to present theirs. This won't really prove much because some people just don't hang onto receipts...but with such an item, the possibility of a defective product is pretty high and I'd think one would want to ensure they could return the product if they had to.
The other scenario tho, is that the person who took your inflatables will "sell" them to someone else, who isn't even aware they are stolen. This particular person won't have a receipt of course...but if the police backtrack the illegal purchase, it may result in locating the thief (thieves).
Your chances of recovery are probably better if you live in a low population area.
Also, I'm not certain just how active the Police will be in locating these items for you...if it is someone in your area, you may end up seeing them on their lawn in a few weeks after they think you've stopped looking or when more decorations have come out on the houses around you.
Good luck with this...I've seen these inflatables for the past few years now and this year they've become extremely popular...unfortunately, some people simply have no brain when it comes to the property of others. I hope they are located and undamaged and returned to you ok. When (if) they come back to you...mark the underside with indelible marker with an identifier that will clearly point to you...i.e. a combination of your street number, car license plate number and either one of your phone numbers or a SSN number all mixed in there so that anyone looking at it might not grasp the information as important...
Mark the air pump as well...any items within your home or vehicle as well...take an engraver and identify anything that can be engraved, with similar information. This way, you simply give this information to the Police if you ever have a situation like this again, and once they locate the merchandise/equipment...it is easily identifiable as belonging to you.

If the police do find your items, you will have the option of pressing charges for theft against the idiots who stole them. You will most likely be asked to make an identification, and you will have to go to court to testify against them. There is also a chance they will not be found. It will help if you drive around your neighborhood and look for the inflatables. If you find them, let the police know and they will follow up.
No, of course you can't stab them. Legally you can't even restrain them. If you see them on your property again, the only thing you can do is call the police with an accurate description of what they are wearing and what direction they go if they leave. Don't get into trouble yourself over this issue. You could end up getting into more trouble than them.

I'm sorry to here that your decorations were stolen. It's a pity that at Christmas time people are stealing other peoples decorations. Maybe you should start a neighborhood watch. Or set up some more decor and set up some video surveillance. Get some motion sensitive flood lights. Your chances of finding your stuff are slim. That's is just a terrible thing to hear about among other atrocities.

I'm sorry.. but I really don't think your chances of recovering them are very high.. if it was kids that stole them, they probably did it for kicks and threw them in a dumpster or something... you might get lucky.. it's a shame though that people do that... Christmas is suppose to be a time of giving and caring and then people do things like that.... good luck to you

Start locking the place up and chaining stuff down or move. Short of you having your name on those items, you'll never get them back unless, of course, the kids admit to stealing them from you (ha fat chance). It sucks. I have never been able to live in the city for that very reason...born and raised country girl.

Ha, ha, ha. exciting tale, i appreciate the Christian's conviction. It jogs my memory of the tale of Gideon, the position he breaks down the altars of the pretend gods. the final analysis is that no human likes hypocrisy, and the signal became hypocritical. It preaches adversarial to faith, the position truly Atheism is between the most heart-hardening religions to date. i do not imagine this is stealing, because the signal wasn't taken for own earnings - it became taken in an attempt to precise the Christian's own freedom of speech. perhaps if room were made for a demonstration next to the atheist signal for the Christian (real freedom of speech), he does not have felt the favor to eliminate the signal, and as a replace ought to have elaborated on atheist hypocrisy?

Sounds like you need to move. You have disgruntled neighbors, and the teenagers don't seem to like you guys that much. Hopefully you aren't raising kids in this area -- but if you are chances are your kids know who the calprets (sorry the splling) are. Eventually these kids could poision your dog... or something really bad. I'd move...

You need a webcam on your lawn to digitally record all of the goings on.
