Legal to carry... depends upon the length of the blade. Longer than 4 inches... NO, Double-edge blades... NO.

they're unlawful for the easy reason that it particularly is the inherent nature of government to be extra restrictive surprisingly whilst a majority of people are stupid or gullible sufficient to have self belief that making something unlawful to possess will quit a criminal from possessing it. the very comparable human beings turn around and argue that if drugs are legalized there could be no drug issues.

Call your local police department for your municipality to find out about the regulations on owning and or carrying such items .

Check with the local aurthorities.In New York State, I would think you need a permit to carry a toothpick.
