I am a divorced 33 yr old man who is looking for a LTR. One of my past GF who was a friend prior to that, told me that I am one of the greatest guys who knows and showed me all of my strong points. In her opinion I need to find a woman who is at my level and not settle (hence my divorce).

When I look at a woman to see if I like her I not only look at her exterior I look at everything. Class, Charm, Intelligence, Drive, Determination, Family Values, Religion, Independence, Goals, Pashions, Social Skills, Dreams, Desires and many more things. Overall I want a woman who is my equal and we co-exist on many levels.

Most women I have found do not have it together enough to give me that wow! feeling. There was one but she did not seem into me cause of her work and family. Now I do not care if she is a size 4 or 10 but I do want someone who is active. I would rather have a woman who weights 20 pounds more and is active then skinny and lazy.

So, I ask....am I too picky?

nope
you're definately not picky. I think everyone is looking for that perfect one that fits what they are looking for. But its true - you do need to be REALLY patient because my momma said 'you can't hurry love, ooo, you just have to wait, because love don't come easy, its a game of give and take'.

No, you're not. You know what you want and what you are looking for.. My friends and family tell me the same thing.. I've been divorced for 6 yrs. and have not had a serious relationship with anyone.. So I hear you on that level. I also want someone that is as well my equal.

Yes, you are. But that isn't the point. The point is, you will be miserable with anyone less than your "ideal" and any woman you might "settle" with would know she didn't "measure up" and would lose any shred of self-respect she might have had.

"Settle" with being alone, because you're ideal is too high.

No your not picky everyone knows what kind of person they want to be with and these just happen to be your standards. My husband and i are just the opposite I like doing things especially with our kids I like acting goofy its amazing what .88 cent bubba teeth can do me and our kids had a great time. My husband acts to old on me sometimes working makes him grumpy and he is a party pooper. I hope you fing the girl you are looking for just keep on looking.

I dont think so. I mean...those are your preferences and there's nothing wrong with that. However, in today's society it's kinda hard to find someone who will satisfy us on all levels. Therefore, you might have to end up settling on some of the levels.

Not at all.... when you finally find the person who is everything you are looking for, you will be glad you did not settle for less! Be prepared to wait a while though, they are few and far between.

i think we all are at some point, but then i think we look beyond that at the person we cares for, imperfections and all, and accept them.
