Atropine

Generally, atropine lowers the "rest and digest" activity of all muscles and glands regulated by the parasympathetic nervous system. This occurs because atropine is a competitive antagonist of the muscarinic acetylcholine receptors. (Acetylcholine is the main neurotransmitter used by the parasympathetic nervous system.) Therefore, it may cause swallowing difficulties and reduced secretions.

Hey, never was a sniper, just passing on what I saw and was told. Atropine is also commonly used as a nerve-agent (treatment/blocker?)

Drugs are not given to pilots or snipers, they rely on the training system, years of experience, and inner strength to get the job done. I served in a sniper team for 13 years and have never taken anything to improve performance and I know for a fact anybody caught taking any kind of drugs not prescribed by a MO was immediately dropped and sent down to a grunt outfit. The atropine answer is particularly amusing. Why would anyone take an anti nerve agent med (which stops urination faster than a cold hand) to stop shaking??? I think I would shake more knowing my bladder is about to rupture from the med.

training, training and more training............just as a person doesnt think about how to walk...he just does it from repetitive motor skills. No drugs are ever given.
