Butterflies in stomach, over excited, telling the world about the person, always thinking of them, doing what you can for them, missing them when apart,

I am sorry I did not have the butterflies in stomach feeling in my love. In fact, before my marriage the only thing that preceded was approval of the girl. After marriage we started living together. With it came the mandatory sexual union. While it did bring physical pleasure it could hardly be elevated to love. As we started living together we came to know each other better. This led to the consideration for mutual likes and dislikes. I did not like some preparations while my wife preferred them but she left eating them(perhaps to save herself the trouble of cooking them for herself alone) This engendered a tender feeling in my mind about her solicitude about my preferences. I also responded by leaving some habits which I felt that they annoyed her though she never gave vent to her dislikes. I received a positive unspoken response from her for this.In this way our relations developed slowly. They were cemented when I fell ill and she kept up vigil throughout the night and made several 'minnats' to gods to bring me through. For your information we have never told each other that we love but we always care for each other. When our first child was due her health was not quite good and the delivery was rather painful. When I heard her cries from the hall I there and then decided that I will not bring her to this impasse thereafter and I have kept this promise to myself. She never spoke about it but I am sure she must have noted this and silently thanked me in the embrace which I felt was a little more tight.

So this is our love story. No fireworks. No solemn promises keeping the moon and stars as witnesses and all that romantic stuff. We never felt the need of those melodramatics.

Thought the person was flawless, wanted to be with them all the time, felt great when I was around them liked things they liked. Okay enough of the puppy love stuff. As an adult the realization happened in reverse. I thought about what would I feel if I saw them with another person- then the jealousy crept in and I realized if my feelings were that intense I must love them.

Really falling in love or having a crush/infatuation is totally different.

Perhaps Love is when you really gotta understand how he/she feels about anything, his/her behaviour, and you can like anticipate their actions. He/she has to also be your other half, to compliment your strenghts.

With that said, Love is definitely an amazing feeling that one can go through in a lifetime.

All the best with your love life.
