There are lots of technologies that are on the verge of being commercially available. Electronic Wedge Brakes, for example, seems like a significant improvement in automobile brakes due out next year. Continuously Variable Transmissions are just now getting popular with Audi and Nissan but it's an old idea. There's a keyboard where each key is an LCD screen, and the symbols on the keys change as you change fonts/programs/games. There's also stuff like the ElectroLaser... I'm sure there's a website about this futuristic stuff somewhere. I've yet to see a car have a noise-cancelling stereo, although there are headphones. There are purely electric cars that are really fast, long-range and efficient (and expensive) like the Tesla roadster and the WrightSpeed X1. LCD windows that go dark (or reflective) with the touch of a button... RamJets for fast airplanes... the whole Virgin Galactic thing...

Closer to my expertise... fast, non-volatile RAM and organic LED displays for laptops. Both eliminate big energy losses in present RAM and LCD technologies. We should get computers with brighter displays, that never need to be "booted," (always on/ready) and have much longer battery life.
