I agree with you on some points but not all. The Bible says to pray without ceasing, and in all things do with prayer and supplication, etc. america was built on a christian theme and has since fallen away from that. We are becoming like Sodom and Gamorrah (sp?) and as thus we need to change our ways (similar to that of ninevah) and God will hear us. He many not answer us the way we ask, but He will answer. Also, we do need to pray for our president, we many not support Him, but he is who is over us...and the Bible says to pray for those placed over us. Prayer will help but will not necessarily stop a terrorist attack...Isreal was in war for all of history...God allowed this, and they lost people, but came out victorious...we will be in war...but we can win. I disagree with the 2nd answerer...miracle do happen, I know someone who has been healed from 5 different cancers 5 times...and is still alivre adn well (never undergoing chemo)

When are some people going to realize that in A merica we have a thing called freedom of religion. Just because some of us believe in something other than the cristian god, it does not make us any less of a moral person. It is up to all of us, not just christians, to take a good hard look at our lifestyles and the way we treat other people. When we as Americans start to realize that terrorists hate us because we are the most greedy, glutonist, overconsuming nation in the world, then maybe we can start to try and take other less fortunate people into consideration.Next time you load up your second plate at the buffet and realize you're full halfway through, try thinking about children overseas fighting over a grain of rice. It doesn't matter what religion you are, prayer alone will not change anything if you don't accept responsibility for your actions and try to make a change.

I don't believe that we as Christians have failed our country and in any way caused 9/11.. I pray daily for our nation and all the world, especially our troops fighting around the world.. Peace won't fall on this earth until after the return of Jesus Christ.. God bless you

If everyone drops what they are doing to pray, we might as well bend over and just take it.
That's ridiculous!!!! Miracles do not happen. Christians didn't fail 9/11...only the Christian MORONS running this country!!!
If you are implying that the only way to save this country is to pray, then you have definately made one thing clear to me...
I'm moving to Germany.
I'm hoping, not praying, that someone will pull our troops out so my family and friends can come home safely. I'm not going to hold my breath and rely on something I don't think exists to do what our weak-minded president should have done a LOOOONG time ago.

Where do you come up with this? Whoever said that all americans are the true christians? Whoever said that these american christians represent Jesus? Whoever said that the 'terrorists' want to kill every american? Aren't you being prejudice to european and asian christians? That's not very christian of you is it? Have you watched the news in the past several decades? Do you see what your so-called christians are doing to each other in the name of Jesus? Can you not see what america is doing to its people and to other countries while it represents the christian faith? Do you ever wonder why other countries despise america along with christians? How would you feel if you were in their situation? Have you ever opened your eyes just for a moment? Have you ever wondered? How do you know that your side is always right?

Yes we can pray but that does not mean that God is going to answer our prayers the way that we want them to be answered. And 9/11 did not happen because Christians failed, it happened because of a group of people that were full of hatred for the US.

i'm unsure we are able to declare that terror assaults have been prevented. (as only one occasion: 2 crane malfunctions in 2 days after an prolonged time of risk-free operation is a minimum of suspicious). i'm unsure that if there have been no assaults or tried assaults that we are able to categorically state the Bush doctrine has prevented them. What seems clean is that the Bush doctrine has made it harder to attack the U. S. in a stunning way. It additionally seems (however somewhat much less definitively) that the Bush doctrine has made the worry networks fairly much less affective.

If anything the "Fundamentalist Christians" (NOT MAINSTREAM CHRISTIANITY) are the Al-Qaida of the USA...
Pick up a History book & see why the USA was sought after so badly. You want to take us back to what we ran from in the 1st place.
I believe in God & pray every day to him that people like you would just STFU and mind your own business!
And just for the record, more people have died in the name of "Jesus" than they have in the name of "Allah" and that is pretty scary....,

nonsense!
9/11 happened because some of the US foreign policies have given people reson to hate the US. examples:
- CIA overthrew democracy in Iran in 1953 and installed the bloddy shah
- constant support for Isreal's ethnic clensing of Palestinians
The only way to prevent another terrorist attack is to have foreign policies that are based on what Jesus said to do:
IN ALL THINGS DO TO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO TO YOU.
When the US govt does that, they make friends.

I don't know that this is true, but praying for peace is never a bad idea, so long as it's coupled with *action* for peace.
And that includes understanding the motivating factors behind fanaticism and disarming them.
One of the first steps in that process is giving up our desire for empire, for domination, for forcing our worldview onto others.
It is giving up the thinking of "rather than that way, our way"; it is in adopting "rather than that way only, our way also".
