I myself have them, the docter told me that only one in every 500,000 babies have it, usually on one foot, and it's usually on the boy gender. I am a girl with both feet webed. It just makes us unique.

Webbed Toes

Not exactly normal, but not uncommon. In the womb, a foetus has webbed fingers and toes. This webbing is dissolved by an enzyme at around 16 weeks. In some cases this does not occur properly, and results in a condition called syndactyly.

In the case where the fusing does not extend all the way to the end of the digits, this is called partial syndactyly. Often the cause is genetic, (I, my sister and two of her children all have this) but treatment is not necessary unless the webbing interferes with motion. In the case of feet, this would mean the big toe is joined to another. Otherwise, any separation is purely for cosmetic purposes.

More details at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dactyly#Syndactyly

Syndactyly can also occur as the result of other conditions or drug side-effects. See: http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/sym/syndactyly.htm

it is normal if you are a duck-
humans evolved with nonwebbed fingers and toes
Is it common? yes- many people have to get"clipped" about every two years- more when they are young and growing.
It is no big deal usually, kind of like having more than 2 nipples, or a sixth toe or an extra hole on the penis(hypospadius)-in which case you pee like a showerhead

No it is not normal. I think that it is caused by a genetic illness passed down to girls. My friend has it, but I can not remember the name. If it is not causing you any problems then dont worry about it. The illness can affect your fingers too.

Good luck. x

It is one of the more common "abnormalities" if you consider it that. Not usually associated with other abnormalities, and easily corrected if the cosmetics of it are bothersome to the individual.

I had a best friend in high school whose feet were that way - she was embarrassed but everyone thought it was cool.
