Oops, driving too fast and I saw a flash of light and think I got caught in my new car. I have no license plate yet and was wondering if anyone thought the radar could zoom in and get my vin number.

thanks!!

You should be ok. As long as you have no Temp tag. In Germany I was flashed by camera for speeding and was amazed at the clarity of the photo. THey were able to blow-up a section of the photo to have a good clean photo of me driving an a blow up of the verification decal that is in the front of the windshield. I dont think that they can get the VIN though as that is recessed into the dash.

Still have my photos though. LOL I can show that I was doing 145 in an 80 zone. Kilometers per hour. equals out to about 87 mph in a 48 mph zone.

Nope you got lucky...But you will need plates on your car soon and then you will definitely get a ticket if you speed through a photo radar again..

But if you want protection from Photo Radar when you get a licence plate on your car get this: http://www.radarbusters.com/products/photo-radar/navalert.asp This will alert you of all fixed red light and speed camera's in the USA

I think you will be OK, most states have a generic Temp. Plate, assigned to the dealer and if they really wanted to,"maybe" they could locate you, but I doubt it. And if you had no plates, don't lose any sleep over it. I also wondered, if they (police) send you a picture of you and your car, can you send them a picture of your money.??

Big brother has sharp eyes but for now he has to get a real close to see the vin number.

VIN number...doubtful. But you must have a temporary tag don't you? I do know they have the ability to capture a lot of detail...guess time will tell. :)
