Yes. the state of the parents has nothing to do with the child. God views each person as an individual. If this is a real problem for the mother, then she needs to get baptized A christening has nothing to do with salvation---it is a presentation of a new baby, a dedication of the child to God. It is the parents saying to the congregation that we will raise this child in accordance with the teachings of the Bible.

yes, a child can be baptised/christened if one of the parents wasn't baptised/christened. but personally i would bother. let the child grow to choose for themselves....it is their birth right.

Not sure why kids are christened or baptised. Not sure what the purpose is. The babys belong to God anyways. If the babys die they go straight to heaven.

Yes, the child is able to be christened. As long as one parent is Catholic. But I would advise your friend speak to the priest or pastoral associate about it. They can give her more information.

when the parents bring their baby to be baptised they will be asked ,` what do you want for this child` and they will agree on Baptism and this is as hard as it will get, so no worries, but it would be a great thing to persuade the Mother to be baptised too, how good would that be?

The child should be welcomed into the church of their choice and if your friend gets any grief about not being baptised herself then she should go immediately to another church where they are welcome and they will probably get the mother baptised at the same time....if she wants. The Catholics are the strictest....

actually dedication of the child is the right term...wherein the parents will pray for their child and make a vow/promise to Lord to take good care of their child...
but i think it is not necessary if both or one of the parents is/are baptized...the important thing is how they will raise thier child/children.
