If weight loss is your goal, you should be trying to keep your heart rate at its maxium exercise rate for a minimum of 40 minutes per workout. If you do this 5 times per week, you should start to see, or feel some difference in your body, or how your clothes fit within a couple of weeks.

Try not to focus so much on how much weight you lose. The greatest benefit of regular exercise is how much better you'll feel. That won't just be physical. You'll also feel good about taking better care of yourself, take pride in your accomplishment, and despite how tired you may feel when you first start out, you'll experience a big boost in your energy level with regular exercise.

As for the best foods to eat... keep the above paragraph in mind. Eat what you like, but in the proper portions. Follow the food pyrimid and include grains, meats, fish, dairy, and an occasional sweet. Trying to stick with a ridgid diet plan will often leave you feeling deprived... the #1 reason diets fail. Also be sure to drink plenty of water. You may not lose weight as fast as the women who eat half a grapefruit and a cup of broth each day, but they'll never feel as strong and energetic as you.

Focus on what happens inside and you'll easily reach AND SUSTAIN your goals. It's far better to be a toned, energetic, mentally heathty 180 pounds, than a weak, ill, 110.

You WILL see results. Drink lots of water, and reduce your caloric intake (there are sites online that will tell you how much you still need to get for nutrition, but how much to cut out). It's great that you are doing cardio, but also think about some light weight training to tone up those muscles as you lose fat. If you do this, you will see results in the first week or two (maybe only 2 or 3 pounds a week at the beginning). Good for you! You can do this!

cardio is good very good. but you dont really start to burn fat untill about 30 minutes + of cardio. so atleast an hour a day of cardio, it doesnt have to be very strenous but just stay moving, try fast walk- jog- bike- dance- all are good ways to increase fat loss. but keep at it it take a long time to make this change. it comes on faster then it goes off..
