"Once saved always saved" as commonly understood is a perversion of the Biblical doctrine of the "Perseverence of the Saints" which teaches that all those who are genuinely born again and brought to a saving faith will, without fail, continue to believe unto death.
The Bible does not teach that one can simply "profess" faith and later renouce it and still be saved. It teaches that one who is TRULY converted will stay in a state of believing until the end.
This confidence comes, not from any faithfulness in the part of the believer, but from the faithfulness of God to His children.
Eternal life is just that, eternal. Eternal means "without end". It makes no sense to say someone has life without end and then it ends.
One must persevere to the end in faith to be saved but everyone who is truly saved WILL persevere to the end.

The Secret of Continued Life is Continued Abiding
Notice that the secret of continued life is continued abiding. If a person does not abide in Christ, he withers, dies, and is finally burned up. This proves that the relation of a believer to Christ is never a static thing based only on a past experience. It is a current, mutual sharing of a common life which is drawn from Him "who is our life" (Colossians 3:4). When the branch is separated from the vine, the source of life is gone, and only death can result. These words of Jesus are too clear to be misconstrued. Even believing, trusting Christians who are connected to the living vine may choose to separate from the vine. When they do, they die and will be cast into the fire and burned. Nothing can wither and die that has not previously been alive.
Security is eternal only for those whose faith is eternally fixed on Jesus, and whose life is connected to the one who is our life. Obviously, we can choose to be lost no matter how saved we once were. Everything depends on maintaining the divine connection with the true vine.
Jesus taught the same solemn truth about losing eternal life in the parable of the sower. In explaining the seed which fell among the thorns and the rocks, Jesus said, "Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away." Luke 8:12, 13.
There are several things to note about this parable. First, only one class will finally be saved - the ones who brought forth much fruit. The groups represented by the wayside and rocks will not be saved. In verse 12, the wayside hearers did not have a chance to "believe and be saved," but in the next verse the stony ground hearers do "for a while believe." What kind of "believing" is this? According to verse 12, it is the kind that saves. So the ones who believed for a while were saved for a while, but in time of temptation they fell away. Eventually, of course, they were lost along with all the others, except the fruit-bearers. Here is an unequivocal teaching of our Lord that people can have a saving faith for a while, and yet lose it and be lost.

The "for" argument goes . . . once saved, you have no more desire to sin and will do the right thing . . . the confusion is "if" you would sin, you are still saved or if you sin, you were never saved . . . I haven't met a perfect Christian yet. To me both are illogical and in Christianity terms sounds like a truth subverted by Satan.
The "against" argument is saved people make mistakes and have their free agency/free will to choose every day who they will serve. Enduring to the end and fighting the long fight is in the New Testament. If once saved always saved was true . . . why would we even be concerned? If once saved always saved was true, what prompted Judas to hang himself? I find it hard to believe he never had a personal relationship with the Savior considering he was one of the 12. Why would we need repentance once we were saved? Repentance would be a one time event at the time of being saved. Why would anyone ever rededicate theirself to the Lord if they were always saved, once saved?
Truth is there is a point where you commit yourself to Christ . . . it is one of the first steps in your journey. You spend the rest of your life learning and growing in wisdom stature and grace along with becoming a better person just as the scriptures tell us that Christ did--and he truly was perfect.

The Bible does not teach that 'once saved, always saved'
John3:36 states:"He that exercises faith in the Son,has everlasting life,he that disobeys the Son,will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him" and
Matt.24:13:"He that endures to the end, will be saved" and at Phil.2:12 Paul warned"....keep working out your own salvation, with fear and trembling"
We need to continually check our faith,by testing to see if it is accurate and by proving it by God's word;then we must live up to God's requirements and contend for the faith,so not to be like the ancient Israelites, whom God saved out of Egypt, but later destroyed because they "believed not" Jude 5
Christ died on behalf of all mankind to give us an opportunity to have our sins forgiven and have a clean conscience before Jehovah God.However, that does not mean that we can continually do what is not pleasing to God and think we are automatically forgiven.Exercising faith in Jesus' ransom sacrifice involves more than just believing. We need to act in harmony with God's righteous standards. That would involve resisting temptation and sin.It also involves talking to others about God and Jesus. It is a continuous effort we as imperfect humans need to make.We need to exert ourselves vigorously to get in" through the narrow gate."Matt.7:13

No. I can't believe that what was Sin before I was Saved suddenly stopped being Sin after I got Saved.
As long as we Live we Will Sin. God doesn't just drop us like a bad Date when we Sin, but continuously Sinning will sever our Relationship with Him.
That is why John said,"If we Confess our Sins, He if Faithful and Just to forgive us our Sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

No, I don't believe in the "once saved" always saved act. We have to be accountable for our sins. Just because we may have been saved one time doesn't make us not humans. Humans are going to fail and sin, so we must repent.

Yes I believe that once saved always saved.
If you can lose eternal life, was it eternal?
Christians still have the old sin nature and sometimes give in to it.
But they also have a new nature that never sins,
When a Christian sins it hinders their spiritual growth and leaves that believers mind open to attacks by the devil who loves to tell believers that they have lost their salvation, thats how the devil trys to stop christians from doing the work that God has for them. Confession and repentance keep us close to God. Remember the devil is a liar and he knows of the power that has God has given you, he does not want you to use it. Please don't believe his lies!!
And may God Bless you, You're in my prayers.

I believe that our souls are continually saved. not just once but daily until eternity, otherwise everyone would be saved and not act like it.
Heb 7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

Eternal Security is a False Doctrine most closely associated with the Baptist denomination of Christianity.
If it were true that would mean that if I accepted Christ at 10 and at 20 I killed three people and myself that I would still go to Heaven. And if you accepted Christ then latter turned your back on Him and lived your life for Satan, when you die you would be forced to spend eternity with God whom you hated while you were alive.
Give me a break!! We are to work out our salvation daily, with fear and trembling.
Sanctification is a process that takes a lifetime to complete.

If you follow your train of thought Christ would have to keep dying for your sins over and over. He died for your sins past present and future. You should continue to confess and repent of your sins after accepting christ but salvation cannot be removed.
Romans 3:24-26
24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
