She said that the worm looked like a piece of thread, when the dog came in from pooping it was on her butt, when she went to pull the worm with a napkin, it went back in her butt....so that rules out Tapeworm...anyone know this one?

It is more than likely round worms. This can be treated with a wormer from really any store. It is a very common intestinal worm. I would suggest though, that a stoole sample be taken to the Vet to rule out any other worms. Normally, if an animal has one type of worm, chances are that there are other worms present that can only be seen with a microscope. The wormer bought at the store WILL NOT treat those worms. Good luck.

It is probably roundworms, but it is hard to diagnose without seeing them. Take a stool (poop) sample with the dog to the vet ASAP and have the sample tested so the vet can treat the dog properly. DON'T rely on pet store remedies. The vet can prescribe the right meds for these type of worms. Please don't delay it can become a real problem for the dog.

No too sure. But, u can get it shots. Or there's this paste, it comes in a toothpaste type tube. N u smear a strip of it on ur finger..n put it in the dogs mouth. After like a month, the worms go away

Duh......take stool sample to vet(no,you don't have to take the dog)for proper INDENTIFICATION(rounds are most common-also whip & hooks) & get PROPER wormer (strongid OR panacur)& dosage-by weight.

DON'T waste $ on "OTC" CRAP!
