I went to a French restaurant with my boyfriend. After we toasted with red wine, suddenly the lights went off. We found in the darkness a candlelit grand piano, and a pianist started play wonderful music. The owner of the restaurant set this romantic surprise. How do you call this exquisite presentation in English?

Everyone who has answered so far is so right: Your English is so good, you already said it perfectly yourself.

But since you asked, I will see if I can think of other ways of expressing it…
-a wonderful surprise
-a memorable evening, (maybe even) an unforgettable evening
-an enchanting evening
-an imaginative gift
-a lovely gesture
-an exceptional experience
-a glamorous event
-a splendid performance
-a delightful surprise
-a heavenly treat
-a special memory
-a superb performance
-a thoughtful idea
-a grand evening
-a divine evening
-a magnificent performance
-a marvellous surprise
-quite something :)
-amazing
-almost too good to be true…

I’m glad you had such a nice evening!

I don't know! Do you have a word for it in your language? English is famous for having words for all kinds of things, but I think this one escapes us, probably because restaurants don't always do such surprising things.

Your English is better than that of most of the English-speaking idiots on this site. You said it almost perfectly.
