The Buy-Bull is an interesting piece of fiction. The problem is that people actually believe what is written and are working very hard to make what is contained in it a reality. The fact that it has as it's stated and sought after goal, THE END OF THE WORLD, makes it a dangerous bit of fantasy because in the nuclear age, some portion of the more zealous of the biblically co-opted may just try to fulfill this ignoble goal. The Buy-Bull needs to be totally marginalized if Humanity is to survive. You can toss the blue eye-shadowed one's Qur'an in the fire as well, for the same reason.

If bringing the contradictions and falsehoods of the bible to the awareness of people is destroying the bible than so be it. Why do some people want to pass the bible off as so much more than what it really is......a story book.

The Bible has been called God's anvil. It has been attacked for 1000s of years, yet it's still around. Men have tried to destroy it; they are gone but the Bible is still here. I wonder why.

Destroy? Like burn them?

Some groups like to destroy other works of fiction, like Harry Potter. I have never been an advocate to these tactics, it server no purpose to burn books.

I have this mentel picture now of an old Twilight Zone episode with Burgess Merideth as an Librarian sentanced to death becuase the state had outlawed books.

the bible is doing a pretty good job of that on its own. people are becoming more and more intelligent and realizing that the bible is not realistic. one day it will be nothing more than a book of fantasy in the bookstore. it's already that for a lot of people.

All you have to do is read the Old Testament to realise it is a book with a spiteful selfish god who is more willing to punish and hurt his subjects than to treat them well.

It is not a very nice tale at all.

Why would anyone want to believe in it??
