Is being in a gang a sin? I am in one but I have not done anything bad.

A sin is, to the religious minded, doing something that is against the will of god. As such, sin, even if legal or not of any immediate moral consequence, is doing something bad.

Being in a gang is pledging oneself to a group of people who do bad things, wh hurt others, steal from them, corrupt them by selling hurtful stuff and by inciting them to do bad things. If bad people are your homies, if you don't strive to correct them, if you stay with them, you are guilty and sinful by association, because, even if you don't commit sin yourself, you let others do it, which is as bad.

No, being in a gang is not sin. But keep in mind that according to the bible, you start to become like those who you hang out with. If the gang you are in is a Chess Club or has members in it named Spanky and Alfalfa, you'll probably sin less then if you were in a modern day street gang. But it is true that you will eventually do what others in your gang do. You can't help it because it's in your human nature.

This is why it is important to hang out with other christians (some call it church). then you're hanging out with people who are NOT sinless, but try to sin less.

To answer your question, sin is anything you do that hurts the heart of God or that hurts yourself. Because of Christ's death on the cross, all sin is forgivable (except for one which I doubt you have to worry about).

Hope this helps.

Breaking God's commandment is a sin. Also, it is good to ask what would Jesus do or would Jesus do this before doing something.

Law of God:
The great principles of God's law are embodied in the Ten Commandments and exemplified in the life of Christ. They express God's love, will, and purposes concerning human conduct and relationships and are binding upon all people in every age. These precepts are the basis of God's covenant with His people and the standard in God's judgment. Through the agency of the Holy Spirit they point out sin and awaken a sense of need for a Saviour. Salvation is all of grace and not of works, but its fruitage is obedience to the Commandments. This obedience develops Christian character and results in a sense of well-being. It is an evidence of our love for the Lord and our concern for our fellow men. The obedience of faith demonstrates the power of Christ to transform lives, and therefore strengthens Christian witness. (Ex. 20:1-17; Ps. 40:7, 8; Matt. 22:36-40; Deut. 28:1-14; Matt. 5:17-20; Heb. 8:8-10; John 15:7-10; Eph. 2:8-10; 1 John 5:3; Rom. 8:3, 4; Ps. 19:7-14.)

I think sin is to alter/deform how God made us and how we should live and therefore stopping us to live in communion with him. Sin is not like a 'bad mark' but a change in our character if we do wrong things to much. Then we loose our good conscience. There is no one rule in what is sin but God has given us unique characters in which we should maintain and develop. Some join a gang because it makes them feel like they are in a family. I suggest that you should do what you know best and according to the law in you heart. It is far better than living in fear of mistakes

No. The sin is you can't out now or you'll get whacked. Anyone who uses the word 'sin' in there vocabulary is probably sinning.

It is an action against the will of God. Try to keep a pure conscience in front of God and society.

sin is anything that contribute to death or interrupt life. god gave us two purposes in life, he want us to be fruitful and multiply. the word of god teaches you how to be fruitful and multiply. since life is the main focus, sin is the one thing that interfere with life.

a sin is disobeying god... you have to know what God says in the bible to know what he wants first...learn the 10 commandments, and just obey them
