I would start with replacing your pillow for one thing, unless you think it can take a good boiling hot wash in disinfectant and detergeant. Also consider using a baby detergeant on the linens to eliminate any irritation from residual detergeants left after the wash. We tend to rub our faces into our pillows during sleep, and along with the simple physical irritation of the rubbing, anything left in the fibers could also irritate. If you have had conjunctivitis, it's also a good idea to do a wash and disinfect on the washcloths and towels you use on the face, and never use one twice until you clear up. Otherwise you can reinfect yourself over and over. If you tend to sleep on your left side, then the outside of the left eye would get the worst of it. Also, if you have a feather pillow, replace it with a foam one made special for folks with allergies. Those are my best suggestions. Hope things get better for your peeper.

The tiniest scratch left on your eye can cause untold misery. Never rub your eyes. I know it relieves the itching for a moment but you will make your condition worse. If you get your sore eye infected it will be worse, so be gentle with it. You can bathe it with warm salty water to clear the sticky away. Doctors call it saline solution. It is safe and it wont sting your eyes. If needed your doctor will prescribe antibiotic eye drops or cream. This type of problem can take a while to clear up and may even come back again, depending on whether you are prone to this problem The doctor may also prescribe an anti allergy or cleansing eye wash. This condition is always sore and can feel like you have glass in your eye. All you can do is follow the advise of your doctor. See ya. Excuse the pun.
