Five days before i had a severe toothache. i went to the dentist he said i that i have a blood clot in my front tooth and it may be caused due to trauma which might have happened long ago. he also added that i need root cannal treatment to clear this problem permanently. when i enquired about this with other dentist he told me that in rootcannal treatment they will remove the hole pulp so it may cause some other sideeffect like your eye may get affected or you may get headaches now and then. so he adviced me to remove that affectedteeth and fix an artificial teeth. which of these is a better solution? if i remove the teeth will it cause any side effects?

There are variables to the prognosis of this tooth. However I would suggest the root canal. The odds of it getting reinfected are slim if the root canal is done properly (all of the nerve is removed). If the tooth does get reinfected they can do an apicoectomy which is a reverse root canal. Be sure to have the tooth crowned shortly after the root canal since teeth tend to become brittle without a blood supply. So now you are left with the dilema of cost, the total cost to save this tooth may be $1500 out of pocket. If you choose to have it extracted, it will be cheaper short term. Depending on the location of the tooth you may now need an implant, a bridge, or if you have other missing teeth a partial denture. Now you are looking at maybe $1500 - $4,000. If you chose not to replace the tooth your teeth may shift & cause your bite to shift resulting in more complex issues later on.

Something similar to that happended to me only I got a "bubble" on the roof of my mouth. I had a root canal done and it was pain free with no complications, however, the tooth got infected again. I have good oral hygiene but really soft teeth. I had to get it pulled and got a partial. I've had no problems since. good luck.

Cleaning and all things that are done by their assistants to regular patients are also done for them. For everything other than that they go to another dentist.
