not in a living human host and also the storage of that infected blood was outside the body tempreture (freezer i.e)? Doesn't the freezing storage of a donated blood kill the virus and germs, if they have any ?

It dont kill a virus. a virus is a non living thing that could survive without food and in a bad temperature (hot and coold). bcz the HIV is a disease that takes much time to infect the cells, is harder to detect it in a early time, it can be detected only 6 months after you got the virus, so to your question, a donatted blod could have HIV. they apply antibiotics and fungicides to the blood, but how the virus isnt a bacteria and isnt a fungi, they dont work with it.

What is really meant is that HIV only survives out side the body and is in the air. As long as the blood does not have any air or oxygen then the HIV can continue to survive. As with Blood transfusions the blood never meets the air. It goes from one medium (your Body) to another medium (the blood bag) and never meets with air. Therefore the medium that HIV needs to survive is present at all times.

Back when HIV was first discovered blood was not screened as throughly as it is these days. They will destroy any blood that is suspect even a little bit.
