Considering that we drink wine as a connotation to Jesus’s death, can we equally drink wine as a symbol to the suffering of Mary giving birth to Jesus? After all, she is the Mother of God and bled in giving birth.

Our Catholic Brethren call Merry "The Mother of God". But she didn't give birth to God. She gave birth To The Human Part of Jesus, The Father contributed the Divine Part.

Merry is not Divine. She had to be Saved just like everyone, and she was in The Upper Room on Pentecost as one of the 120 who had to terry for The Holy Spirit.

The wine in Communion is symbolic of The Blood shed by Jesus for our Redemption.
The Bread is symbolic of His Body Broken for our Healing.

No. But this question is more directed to Catholics then general Christians. Drinking of wine in connection to the blood of Jesus etc is a Catholic thing, and maybe the Anglican/Church of England faiths. Most other Christian religions don't have a big thing with Mary as the Mother of God.

I suppose, but it wouldn't be biblical in nature.

We drink wine, which represents the blood of Christ, because that's what Jesus commanded his disciples to do.

I feel that that is putting Mary up there with Jesus and you shouldn't do that. That is idolizing someone beside him.

I knew a lady who prayed to the mother mary even though she wasn't catholic. She just felt that since she was a mother like herself that she would understand and relay her prayer. One of the great privileges we have is to define ourselves and who we are. Besides somewhere out there I would imagine there is a belief like that or very similar.

What ever excuse you need to get drunk. Just remember, God has no parent, He has always been. Jesus on the other hand has both a mother and Father, as well as a God.
