you never mentioned if you had a male or female? GSD's are a large breed dog and can range anywhere between 70 pounds to over 100, but this also depends on if your dog is a German working line(tend to be a bit bigger) or American. my GSD is 14 months old and weighs 80 pounds and he has yet to fill out. his height is 25 inches at the shoulder. females tend to be smaller in height, around 22-24 inches at shoulder and also weigh less.

German shepherd dogs are in the large dog category. You will probably find that it grows quite rapidly and is easily above your knee by 12 months old. shephards are great dogs i used to own one some years ago and she was a great dog.

I am sure he will reach his full height by then. The first year is very important for a GSD dog to grow most of his full height , as most of the growth takes place during this period..So don't forget to give healthy food for it. I am saying out of experience who is 10 years old (I brought it when it was 2 months old).

Congratualtions!
I love German Shepards. I grew up with them. I have now had 2 of my own. They are very large dogs. My 1st one was a male and he was very large. The one I currently have is a female and she is much smaller. Sex does matter.
