Becasue of what your presious Son has done for me on that cross, and I have invited him into my heat and trust him. I have repented from all my sins, and have forgiven people who have done me wrong.

One of the principles of Islamic teaching is one should not ask hypothetical question if it has no benefit (either practical or spiritual). It's better to find the TRUTH by asking questions that can lead to the truth; such as "What is the purpose of life?", "What should I do today in this world that can allow me to enter paradise / heaven?", "Which religion gives the most satisfactory answer regarding life and God?" and other useful questions.
In Islam, to be allowed to enter Heaven / Paradise, one should follow the religious teaching now in earth by doing what is good (according to religion) and by avoiding what is bad (according to religion).
According to Islam, we will not go to Heaven if we wait until the Judgment day without adhering to what the religion preach now when we are still alive.

It is written, Peter stands at the gate, not God. Jesus is the way to God. The book of life is written prior to your arrival, right? There would I think not be any test to enter as your life is already over on Earth.

Two problems here.
1.) Why would God need to ask me anything? Doesn't he already know what I am thinking?
2.) Why would an all-loving god even need to consider not letting someone in? Is he not all-powerful enough to change them if they don't meet his standards?
Reasons for my answers? Critical thinking.

Wow, I'm pretty surprised that you exist! Why didn't you give us more evidence? There were so many religions to choose from and no way to know which one was the right one. In fact there was even evidence against religion. You tricked me! Be a sport and don't send me to hell.

I would say, because any God worth worshiping would not create millions and millions of human lives only to destroy them in agony for making a wrong choice.
