Firstly, see your doctor and get some sensible diet advice. There may be an underlying medical condition but your doctor should be consulted and will give you a free diet plan. However, this diet plan is not as 'fancy' as the others that you see advertised in magazines and on the television, but it is important to remember that it is just the same!
All diet plans work on the same principle - take in less calories that you need, and expend in energy more calories than you take in.
For example, you take in 1,500 calories and you do some exercise and use up 2,000 calories, so you have 'dieted' 500 calories. And 1lb of weight is equivalent to 3,500 calories so if you just 'save' 500 calories a day, you will lose 1lb a week.
You can work out the maths from that and see that you could safely lose 2lb a week, that's half a stone a month. It's not as much as you would like to lose, perhaps, but you can seriously damage your health by dieting too fast. Just a loss of 2lb will be enough to make the waistband of your jeans feel a little looser, and 5lb will see a few cheekbones peeking through on your face.
Good luck - ignore the 'slim-fast' diets - do it sensibly. You'll also be getting used to less food which will, in the long run, make sure that your food habits are changed for life and you won't put the weight on.
GOOD LUCK!

Ok start to think positivly about your problem it can and will be able to be resolved.
Get rid of the negative feeling by looking in the mirror and saying today is the beginning of making a change.
I will not call it dieting but a life-style change and it will happen slowly but surely.
Things to think about:
I order to loose you will need to eat otherwise you might find your body will cling onto the resources it has and refuse to loose an inch.
Exercise need not cost a penny if you take public transport try getting off a stop before normal and walking into the office this will have an immediate effect as your endorphines will start to kick in they are the feel good factor.
Eating start with breakfast a good breakfast is essential things like porridge, cerals, egg with toast household items which cost very little.
If you feel you need something sweet take fruit and as the holiday period is here there are clementines which are small and very sweet, apple,or nuts with raisins.
There is also the option to clean your teeth try it before dismissing it.
Lunch;
Can be a salad,a sandwich,a baked potatoe very filling, soup you just need to look around.
Dinner
A light meal of vegtables with a meat such as chicken or better still fish.
A home made stir fry throw various vegtable into a wok/pan with a small amount of hot oil and wow there is a meal again you can add meat if you wish.
Other good thing is to drink water stay away from low calorie because there are hidden gremlins, pure fruit juice a home made smoothie perhaps.
Then the include the all important exercise, walk instead of taking transport take the stairs instead of the lift! I walk up six flights so you can do it as well.
Have fun what about roller blading? a bike ride?
You will have days that you might eat the wrong things except it do not beat yourself up say ok bad day tomorrow I will be fine.
Good luck stay posotive and remember you can and will suceed

I apologise if this sounds flippant, it's really not meant this way - but loosing weight is actually very simple, you need to take in fewer calories and/or use more calories.
In it's simplest form then, if you make your portions smaller and do a little more exercise (eg: go for a walk) - you will eventually loose weight.
If you want to do it more quickly, then you can look at the type of food you eat. Most of us know what we ought to eat and food is much better labelled these days. You can try keeping a diary of what you eat, when and the calorie value.
If you could afford to spend a little bit of money then I would recommend www.weightlossresources.co.uk. It's an excellent site and I lost over 3 stone using it. It offers a three-day free trial so you could go for that alone and try and read as much as you can on the site in that time to educate yourself.
Good luck - you can do this if you are able to get yourself into the right frame of mind.

No fast food. Drink lots of water and no sodas. Smaller portions.....use a saucer for your meals instead of a plate. Watch the carb count on the products you buy or eat. They are listed on the product. If the carbs are high, don't eat that particular food. Lots of salads, but have the dressing on the side. Exercise. Doesn't have to be strenuous at first. Walking, swimming, etc. Tune into some of the exercise programs on TV. None of these suggestions cost money. Remember you didn't put the weight on in a day, and you won't lose it in a day. Just be patient and you'll see the pounds come off.

It doesn't cost anything to lose weight, all those shakes and pills are short term solutions - you need to start eating right for the rest of your life and keep the weight off, there is no point losing it with get thin quick solutions and then pile the weight on again. Cut down on fatty foods and eat more fruit and veggies which are not expensive, they work out cheaper than fast food and sweets. You should be able to find some diets online. The Patrick Holford Diet is the best eating plan in my opinion.

I am not a physician and am reluctant to give advice. The only diet that has worked for me is the protein diet--and it's fairly easy to stick to. Avoid carbohydrates, drink lots of water, eat a fair amount of protein (including cottage cheese) and vegetables as an agent to keep your system working properly. Also, you may want to consider getting a physical examination prior to exercising--even light exercise with this program makes a tremendous difference; and the amazing thing is that you really don't feel hungry. You do have to resist the urge for Oreos and other high sugar/carbohydate snacks. And try to think of three things that went well for you that day and why. This will help with your depression. Been there, done that, and good luck. I lost 20 pounds and kept it off; now it's nothing to maintain weight. You can do it!

take a multivitamin daily with a meal before the active part of your day. as our soils become depleted, the food that is eaten by our working class becomes less and less nutritious. the body will keep looking for nutrients until it finds them. while you're at it, take a calcium-magnesium-zinc pill and a fish oil pill. do some research on cinnamon, milk thistle, and ginseng if you have time.
protein is not the cause of weight gain, but protein will make you feel more full. so eat protein. eggs are the cheap way, but throw in some fish, pork and chicken for health purposes.
some fats are beneficial... that's why you're taking the fish oil. use more olive oil in your food. it's better not to cook it. (it has a low smoking point anyway)
carbohydrates are your enemy, in general. only eat them when you have a good reason. a good reason would be in order to get more fiber into your diet or more phytochemicals, antioxidants, and bioavailable nutrients into your diet. Brown rice, blueberries, walnuts, that sort of goodness. I guess you can only afford the brown rice.
You are addicted to carbs. Don't eat until you are hungry enough to eat broccoli.

You already know what your eating, just cut it in half. And start walking, no reason now to get into a heavy duty exercise regement just walk and every two days increase it by 5 or 10 minutes til your walking for about an hour. then you can increase it to 2 times a day, morning and night(after dinner) you'll see the weight come off and it will boost your moral. I have been overweight most of my adult life. I have lost as much as 75lbs. on one diet or another only to gain it back again. No one is ever happy with the way they look, set a goal for yourself and stick to it. GOOD LUCK

You can easily lose weight on a budget! Don't feel bad about yourself, accentuate the positive! Just cutting out fat will make you lose weight. Take your time. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables and avoid ready made rubbish. Get walking or swimming too. Stick to 3 meals a day with the largest one at breakfast. Once you start exercising you will feel much better and inclined to continue. Good luck mate, chin up!

Lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks??
There are some websites on the Internet, which promise you that you are going to lose 10 pounds in every 2 weeks. If you are good in math you will find that keeping these stats in mind, 260 pounds in a year. Losing 260 pounds is the figure, which is unbelievable and unexpected.
This kind of claims are planned just to cause clients to make impulsive decisions. When you gain weight, did you gained around 50 minds in two months? Certainly not. We gain weight in weight in small parts, which add up to our weight. This keeps on increasing with time.
I think you get what I mean to say. We normally gain weight in grams like 65 gram per week. With this stat you are going to gain around 7 pounds at the end of year.
This weight is so slow that you cannot measure it weekly. But in fur years you are going to gain around 28 pounds.
So how can you expect this weight to go in few days? You are going to lose the way you have gained it. So it will take time to lose weight. So you have to start losing weight systematically. You can lose weight by developing the good eating habits in you and nutritious foods.
