I really want to trust this guy i like but, i cant trust men beacuse of a bad childhood (my stepdad). This guy knows about it, does he think im damaged goods?? and how can i learn to trust him??? serious answers please -x-

If two people love each other with the love that can result in a relationship that works, he can get past that. The real question is whether you can. Thoughts of "Damaged Goods" etc. are deep self esteem problems that you have retained as the result of your abuse. Meditate on who you were before the abuse, overcome it by sharing the love of a real relationship. If your boyfriend knows your darkest secrets and still loves you, you have something worth holding on to. Don't let the voices of the past destroy it. That will be your life's battle, ignore the voices of the past. The past does not exist. It's gone. Live life today and tomorrow.

It is really hard to forget what someone has done to us in the past. I can relate.
But if we continue, all our life to harbor resentment, it may cause us to never have love again in our lives. To never be happy.
What your step father did was real bad I'm sure. But you need to gradually trust again. Trust that you know what to do, now that you are older. Learn from your example. Don't be a victim anymore. Be strong for your self. Let the guy know what you expect out of the relationship. Be honest and be open to trying new things. But don't rush into anything. When you are ready to go further in the relationship, you will know. If he likes you, he will fight for a relationship with you. You are not damaged goods, you are of value. You were hurt, and it was not your fault. Try to heel, and maybe talk to someone about your feelings. Someone who can really help you. It does take alot to trust a man again, but it will happen. I learned to trust again, and it worked out for me.
