There is a lot of scholarly evidence to support that the Bible was not written as fictional work. If you are willing to do some research, you will find the history of the Bible fascinating, even if you do not believe the writings were inspired by God.
The mainstream belief among Jewish and Christian religions is that the Bible was written by men of God inspired and guided by the Holy Spirit. It is a collection of texts written over thousands of years, telling of the changing yet progressive relationship between God and man.

It could very well be. Some Atheists believe it
was written by Joseph Flavius. The thought was to keep the masses under control and that's why the bible was created. It is said that it was taken from parts of The Great Witches Book and rewritten. They feared that Witchcraft could cause trouble. They didn't want to lose their control on the world! This is all in a book called The Taruk an Atheist book that puts the Bible down as pure fiction. I have a brief of it cause I was a Athiest for 3 years!
I don't know why I stopped being Athiest. I think cause If I was to believe in Evil Demons there must also be a God or at Least some Good Spirit that is Angels or Some type of Goodness Entity! I think insulters, putdowners, degraders, spyers are demons whether they know it or not!

Bible is a holy book but it was written some time ago by men. Those men were disciples / folowers of a devotee of the God. They may not all ahve been perfect in their reportage of Jesus activites etc. But its pretty good. It possible to sense its transcendental nature. I prefer to read the Bhagavd Gita as it is cos it goes deeper into the nature of God and how to get closer to him. (What the bible is lacking is picked up in the Bhagavad Gita)
If you read the bible or any bona fide scripture with an open mind and heart you can feel uplifted. You can feel in your heart that its true. no need to speculate.
I was made to read it in school and i never liked it especially. Now that I have a real living spiritual master in the Gaudiya Sampradaya I can understand that the bible is sublime. I especally like what the Corinthians say about 'love' (its is never boastful or unkind etc.) and the psalms are quite beautiful. Oh, you know what - the best bit is the sermon on the mount. read that and think about it... you can feel that its real.
You can't get any material proof for things which are spiritual. You should pray to God for a little of his mercy and then you can understand the bible. : )

The bible as you may know was written on parchments and later composed into order by dates written and authors determined long ago by the then catholic church. The prophesies were written centuries before the birth of Christ that told of His forthcoming and things they could not have known and works perfectly. The bible gives you the lineage of David where Jesus is an offspring.
The rulers can be traced as truth, the cities mostly as well.
If it is a fiction, the formation of a religion of Christianity, then it has fooled the world ever since, what is the purpose then, just a hopeful story that took centuries to write and preserve?

I think there is plenty of evidence to suggest most everyone in the bible lived. Even that many of the events took place. Heres the ringer. It doesn't mean you have to believe in god. Just like believing that the big bang and evolution are undeniable facts of reality doesn't mean you should stop believing in god. The truth is facts, evidence, and science are not applicable to religion. Science and religion are two parralel lines which should never ever ever thouch. Don't base you choice about christian faith on science and don't base your science on christianity. There is no evidence which can prove or disprove the existance of a god and there never will be so don't even try. It's not about that.

at least 48 prophecies were foretold about Jesus' first advent, that is just a speck to the prophecies told about his 2nd advent.
Veyr true book, with true men of Paul, Jonah, David, places and events found the Acts of The Apostles. Revelation gives a complete revelation of what is going to happen in the future, as with all the book of the bible.

No one is asking you to believe it. If you don't, you simply don't! There is alot of evidence, and some of us have had many blessings. All you have to do is read it, which I bet you haven't because you are not specifying what part of the Bible you think is not real. The Old or New Testament? Jesus DID live and HE IS the SON OF GOD and OUR SAVIOUR wheather you like it or not, and there is a hell that has a place waiting for anyone who does not believe in the lake of fire, wheather you like it or not.

Yes it's fictional, if there were any evidence it was real then you could believe in it without faith, but as there is no proof or evidence for any of it then the only way to believe it is through blind faith alone.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God and every thing in it is true. The men who wrote the Bible wrote through God's direction. Do a web search on the Dead Sea Scrolls.

It is mostly autobiographies therefore it is true. The evidence is our existence Jesus died for our sins otherwise we wouldn't be here. The gospel is where you should start to understand better, thats the New Testament.
