Here are some quotes from "ATHEIST-BAN-CHRISTIANITY" in 'questions' like http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=At.LsszWqzj7IeaWwHq1nGfsy6IX?qid=20061126180926AAS9dXK
"You christians need to have your heads examined for brain activity."
"You christians need to be banned!"
"you are a foolish lot"
"you insidious Christians"
"You bloody christians"
"You filthy indignant creatures"
"wake up you stupid christians!"
"we need to extinguish your religion with fire!"
"you are a feisty lot that needs to be extinct!"
I don't understand why guys like him can't just consider Christians silly people believing silly myths? Why must they bash Christians?
But, while I see it on both sides, I have seen far more hateful athiests on this site than hateful Christians.
I wish they would try a little tollerance!
And I don't think "Well, they aren't tolerant of me!" is a valid response. That reminds me of my nieces saying "Well, SHE started it!"

I worded the Q poorly earlier & only got people telling me not to generalize. So I reprased the Q.
F R & keoni_21- why do you refuse to answer the question? I clearly stated I've seen it on both sides! I'm not acting like the Christians are never guilty of this.
Keoni, why call Christian "pure evil" just because one idiot plays foul?
Ancestor- I'm glad you are not like "ATHEIST-BAN-CHRISTIANITY." What is your theory as to what makes guys like him tick?
Jason, I understand you logic but it brings up the question, why do the Christians get hateful. Just because there are more hateful athiests on this site doesn't mean there aren't quite a number of hateful Christians, too.
Dawkins & Quest4questions - I finally got the type of answer I was hoping for. Thanks!

It's frustrating when someone sees something so clearly that other people just can't. I think that's why some Atheists are angry at Christians. Christians believe in the power of prayer when it has never been proven in any scientific test that has been done. They pray and say that God answers prayers in the form of yes, no, and wait. You know what can also answer prayers that way? Anything you pray to can. A rabbit's foot will sometimes seemingly grant you things that you've prayed for, but most of the time the "answer" will be no and wait, just like God supposedly answers.
Also Christians disbelieve in every religion that has ever existed other than their own. They laugh at the silly Greeks who believed in Zeus and his friends on Olympia, but believe that God impregnated a virgin to bear his son. This is how every religion operates. They clearly see how ridiculous other religions are, but they can't see how crazy their own is. It's hard to see through the crap when you are brought up to believe that it is the norm to believe in your religion. This fact alone should be enough to convince any rational person that all world religions are false and man made without divine inspiration. If you lived in India you would be born and die as a Hindu. If you were born in Saudi Arabia, you'd be Muslim. They see the flaws in Christianity and you see the flaws in their religions. Please make the next step and see the flaws in your own!
The fact that Christianity has made its way into our government ("in God we trust" and "one nation under God") and that in some states there are jobs that you can't have unless you acknowledge that God exists are two more reasons why there's a little bit of ill will toward Christians.
This was longer than I thought it was going to be and I hope that you don't think I just copied and pasted and not read it. Thanks.

This is the same as why some Christians are so hateful.
1. People suck in general, what religion one is does not make you suck less.
2. Fundies of any kind suck; I haven't met a fundie of any religion that I liked.
3. It's a backlash; since many of us live in Christian dominated societies, some people feel constantly attacked when their world view does not mesh with the dominate world view. This hate you see is actually a way to create balance. Christians dish it out all the time, you may or may not realize it (or you personally may not do it at all). However, saying you are going to hell; you are a sinner, I know I'm right; how can you believe that, Jesus loves you (when you know the person doesn't believe in Christianity) etc are actually attacks that cause people to be angry, because you are diminishing their point of view.
4. You are talking to them on the internet, people are generally more cruel on the net, because you are not seen as a person, but text on the screen. How many of your face to face interactions with Atheists or people of other religions have been similar to those you experience on the internet?
5. People suck, oh wait I said that one already.

I'm not sure if you ask this question because you don't know or because you want to make a point. To me its obvious yet still trying. Its because a heart in sin is turned away from God and hates Him. You will either love God and hate sin or vice versa. I myself have experienced this. In the past when I have given into some sin, if I hear the name "Jesus" its like a stab to my heart. It instantly grabs me. You walk into a room full of peopleand say Allah, or Buddha, or Kali, I daresay couple might have a definite response, but most would be indifferent. On the other hand, if you go into the room and say the name of Jesus, you instantly have attention, positive or negative because there is power in the name. It affects everyone with either joy and peace or fear and/or hate. Christ said the world will always hate Him and us.

some situations it isn't difficulty-free to be in a minority. i'm an atheist, yet I not often percentage my perspectives with all people. I observe that when I element out i'm an atheist people choose me, or mistrust me, or experience sorry for me. i for my section stay an particularly moral existence. I pay my taxes, volunteer, appreciate the elderly and little ones. I appreciate paintings, music, animals. I kiss my boyfriend at the same time as he comes homestead. I have the help of a loving family contributors. As I atheist I do BELIVE in various of issues! i position self belief in friendship. i position self belief in love. i have self belief contained in the humanity that connects us all. i position self belief in appreciate for the international we stay in. i imagine Christians actually have self belief interior a similar issues. I actually position self belief in study and wondering. commonly, i position self belief in myself and picture anybody must be allowed to have self belief what they have self belief - and if I’m incorrect or good, I ought to under no circumstances impose my perspectives on all people else. once you're an atheist some situations it appears like the total international is telling you that there is something "incorrect" with you and that you're immoral, hateful, and so on. yet people do not rather comprehend me as someone. Early Christians were also persecuted for his or her beliefs. i for my section imagine Christianity is a sturdy ingredient if it makes your existence chuffed and complete of which skill. My wager is that nameless posting places like this talk board carry out the more serious in people. IT helps people to act and say terrible issues about one yet another with none responsibility for his or her moves. i desire my posting makes you comprehend that atheist are people, in simple terms like you - and that i for my section do not hate you.
